Captain Paul Watson, the founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, had intended to join Richard at FedCon XXI in Germany. However, upon his arrival in Germany, Captain Watson was arrested by German authorities for extradition to Costa Rica in response to an alleged violation during the filming of "Sharkwater" in 2002. Richard spoke in support of his friend, and he recorded a message asking all supporters to take action for the release of Captain Watson.
