Following the completion of the fifth season of Stargate SG-1, Richard visited with Vicki Gabereau on her Vancouver-based morning talk show. There he spoke about the longevity of Stargate, the family atmosphere on the set, and his role as an executive producer. He talked about his daughter Wylie, and he shared how he came upon her name. He described the documentary River Project that he and his partners have been working to produce, and he talked at length about his recent rafting trip to Tibet and an earlier trip to Chile. He shared several of his own pictures of his visit to the Tibetan monasteries, and he spoke of his interest in photography. In the final segment, a guest from the Greater Vancouver Zoo shared several exotic animals, including a blind cheetah, and Richard remained, petting the cheetah as the guests spoke.
