Richard talked with Joan about the possible dangers of the stunts he has performed on MacGyver as well as the active sports such as hockey and race car driving that he pursues in his own life. Joan also teased him about his recent comments saying that he finds Kim Basinger attractive, and she wondered why he has never been married at age 40. Richard talked about his parents and his brothers and about some of the jobs he had during his early days as a struggling actor. The interview was taped in New York on November 5th and aired the following month.
