PRASERT

Prasert, the grandfather of Chan and Lin, was among the slaves who were forced to work in the Burmese opium fields by General Narai. Weakened by the hard labor and his advanced years, Prasert was meek when facing General Narai and his overseer, Truang, however, when Truang was driven from the village and MacGyver offered the villagers a chance at freedom, Prasert willingly joined the others in preparing for Narai's return. He played a role in defeating Narai and his men by helping to build a trap that would trigger rifles to fire remotely at the tires of Narai's jeep convoy. With MacGyver's help, General Narai was killed, Truang was defeated, and Prasert and the other slaves of the village were freed.
