TONY

Tony and Carl were James Crowe's henchmen, acting in whatever capacity their criminal boss demanded. Crowe had instructed Benny, a horse trainer, to fix a race by doping a horse, and when Benny refused, Tony stood guard and Carl held Benny's arms as Crowe delivered a beating to convince him otherwise.

Crowe had conned several retirees out of their life savings, and MacGyver, Thornton, and Joanne Remmings, a new employee at the Phoenix Foundation, set up a sting to recover the stolen money. Carl accompanied Crowe during his meetings with them, and Tony was ordered to follow Joanne to learn where she lived.

Crowe didn't trust MacGyver and Thornton, and he sent both Tony and Carl to kidnap Joanne as insurance. They cut the power to her house, but although their initial attempt to capture her was thwarted by MacGyver, Crowe was able to prevent her escape and take Joanne hostage until he received his share of the money.

As MacGyver and Thornton entered the Decker Street Police Station to carry out the final stages of their con, Tony and Carl waited and guarded Joanne in a vehicle parked outside. MacGyver and Thornton had left Crowe locked in the property room of the police station and had cut the bottom out of the trunk that was supposed to carry their money, but which in fact contained random items stolen from the property room.

Tony and Carl left Joanne unguarded as they went to retrieve the trunk, but an alarm was sounded at the station and the swarm of responding officers found not only Crowe in a compromising position but also Tony and Carl outside the building trying to recover the electronics that had fallen out of the bottomless trunk.

The sting had been successful, recovering the money Crowe had stolen and leaving behind enough evidence to finally arrest and convict Crowe as well as Tony and Carl.
