BENNY

Benny was a horse trainer at the racetrack in Los Angeles. James Crowe, a career criminal whose illegal activities included fixing horse races, had ordered Benny to dope one of the horses. When Benny had refused, and Crowe subsequently lost his bet, Crowe and his henchmen, Carl and Tony, decided to make him reconsider by taking him to the stables and roughing him up.

Tony stood guard and Carl held Benny's arms as Crowe punched him repeatedly in the stomach. The beating was interrupted when MacGyver and Joanne Remmings arrived, and as Benny was allowed to leave, he promised Crowe that he would do better next time.
