Great idea, Lis!

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera (yet) so I can't make pictures. I'd love to, though!

I won't be opening my figurines, so I'm glad someone has!

This made my day.

It was a pretty dreary one at work, so I needed the pick me up.

May I ask why? What's the fun in having them but not being able to play with them? When I got my first General Jack ever I tried to move every limb of him into different directions and looked if he looked like the real one - you even can put the head up and down!

The clothes are marvellous, with many creases which makes them look real. And I also gave him every tool intho his hands, I felt like a little girl playing with puppets again Laughing

And finally being able to put the gate and the ramp together was also nice.

I understand that they are worth much more when kept unopened but I heard that some bought two sets... one to keep and one to play with.

I don't want to acuse you or anything, I just want to understand it, so please feel free to explain!

Oh trust me, I would love to take them out and start a holy SG-1 vs the universe war on the floor of my computer room.

LMAO

But I prefer to hang them up on the wall, as part of my collection. Plus, they will be worth money some day.

Some day...when I no longer want them...but need the money. Smile

In other words...forever from now!

My friends visited me last weekend and we did a few nice settings. And we had so much fun that evening! They really got the hang of it.

I have to work on the pictures a little yet, the backgrounds etc. but I just couldn't wait to share with you so here are the first ones:

This was an idea of one of my friends, and it turned out so awesome! She wanted to let Jack and Teal'c juggle like in the episode "Window of opportunity". We made the signs at the slate just like in the series. The books were made out of cardboard.

Daniel also got a mug onto his table.

At first only Jack is juggling and Teal'c still learning with the book, but then are both juggling.

Enjoy! If you like it I will post more of this stuff.

Sorry, the table was way too small to add her also. I wouldn't have had a chair for her anyway. Had much trouble to get Jack's and Daniels legs under the table since they can't bend at the knees!

I see you also had fun playing with them, Lis! I like your green surroundings. And you have a whole army of Jaffa there. I also will send in my request for two red Jaffa soon.

But you put the DHD wrong together. The open part should be up, not down. You have to turn it around. Just look at the pictures I post today!

Yes, I'm looking forward to the desert camo team also! Hope they'll fix the colors first, though. The green spots at the uniform are much too dark. They should be lighter.

Can somebody please explain to me how to spell Fruit Loops? I always thought it was about Fruit but now I realized that I actually should spell it Froot Loops? Then I'll change it in my post with Jack and Daniel eating breakfast. What does Froot mean anyway? It's not in my dictionary.

Thanks!

Hi Astra,

Fruit Loops is correct. I have the Transcript from "Window Of Opportunity" and they write it "Fruit Loops".

Froot? I can't find this word also. I think that word give it not.

Your Pics are very great. from where do you have the Table and the Chairs?
I look already for suitable furniture.

See, and yesterday I watched the episode again and in the subtitles they wrote "Froot Loops", that's why I asked. You thought they should knew how it's right?

I did they still have from my childhold when playing with the puppet house. You just can google for the word "Miniaturen" and you'll find lots of German shops that sell little furniture, but they can be very expensive since they are made in detail. I think they are not for children to play with but actually for adults.

I'll send you a PM!

Here are more pics: This is from the episode "Crystal Skull". Daniel is looking into the Crystal skull, and Teal'c is zatting it, and Jack has Sam over his shoulders and is running away. Enjoy!

"Froot Loops" is correct, but "froot" is not a real word. Smile

It is the name of a fruity flavored cereal made by Kelloggs, but Kelloggs changed the spelling of the brand name to "Froot" just to be clever - I suppose they thought the two letters "O" in the middle were adding more "loops" to the name.

It would be a similar case to "Krispy Kreme" doughnuts. The brand name of the doughnuts is spelled with "K" instead of "Crispy Creme", so "krispy" and "kreme" are not correctly spelled English words, but that is the correct spelling of the product.

Here is one of the websites for Froot Loops, and you can see what the cereal box looks like:

http://www.frootloops.com/

English - just when you think you've figured it out, they change the rules. Smile

LOL at Jack and Sam - she sure is hanging on for dear life!

And her's another Froot Loop link. http://www2.kelloggs.com/brand/brand.aspx?brand=153&cat=cereal

Nowadays I mostly eat Cheeries, but went through a Coco Krispies (chocolate Rice Krispies!) phase in my early teens.

And for a while in college, breakfast was OJ followed by milk and Chips Ahoy! cookies - I figured chocolate chip cookies had as much nutritional value as a cinnamon bun LOL

Thanks Kate and banlu for finally being able to explain the Fruit/Froot-thing to me. I guess I should have googled it myself rather than asking about, though Embarassed

I once looked in my supermarket, but they only have a different kind of Kelloggs Loops (I think with chocolate) there, but no Froot Loops.

Glad you like our pictures, Kate! I do have another question: We made some pictures of the invisible Jack sitting at the toilet and reading a book (which is hanging in midair) but I was not sure whether it is appropriate to post these here?

Okay, so that Gerda has her wish and banlu is not dying from laughing fit - here are the pictures we made (but if Kate says otherwise I'll remove them)

We wanted to illustrate that fanfiction "Invisible" of my friend (the one I posted the link and you read it at German).

For those who weren't be able to read it: When trying to get Jack visible again some accident happens with the machine and Sams hand and Jack's hand somehow are stuck together. At least that means that they now always know where he is at a time and he can't play pranks anymore, but that also means that they have to follow each other to every place one has to go, including the toilet. That's why Sam is standing with her face averted in one of the pictures.

The little roll of toilet paper I made out of real one.

Have fun and don't laugh too hard Smile

And in this one Daniel is discovering that the Egyptians already had water toiletts.

Not to worry, although they do say that imagination is more powerful than the real thing. Wink I must say, though, that your attention to detail is certainly... um, detailed. Smile

I'm waiting to see a reenactment of the "spinning chair" scene from 200. Honestly, I thought that was one of the funniest scenes in the whole episode, and RDA wasn't even there. Even though he "was". <G>

My friend is to blame Smile She went into the kitchen and came back later with THIS. And for Gerda, these are prunes, so you almost were right with raisins.

I totally agree, unfortunately I don't have such an little office chair (yet). Debatting whether or not to buy one at this site with the miniatures. They have lovely stuff there but it would be very expensive to get it all.

Okay, okay, don't want to wait you too long. Remember, though, that we only had one evening, so I'm afraid I'll soon come to an end. But there are a few left yet.

BTW, if anyone wants to save these to their harddrives for keeping, feel free to do so. I'm glad you all have fun.

Today we see the episode "Bane" where Teal'c was bitten by this big alien insect and Jack shoot it but it was too late and then Teal'c is pupating (is that the right word?)

LOL! You know, Astra, these scenes from the episodes are so clever and so obvious that they don't even need an introduction. Just as I was laughing at the clever Teal'c+bug picture, I scrolled down to the Teal'c-in-a-cotton-ball picture and burst out laughing until I had tears.

Okay, I'm submitting a suggestion for future creations: The ketchup/mustard happy face "WACKO" scene from Window of Opportunity. Laughing

Thanks for the laugh!

If you only could see me right now - grinning widely Laughing Thanks for all these great feedbacks!

Weeks before my friends would arrive I started to go through all my closets and drawers. I was looking for things (and I have a lot of stuff, as you can see) - things I could use or that gave me inspirations. That's where I found this bug and immediately I imagined this scene. It also was the first scene we shot.

So from there to the cotton-ball it was a small step Smile We would have liked to bring the little girl with the watergun into it also, but unfortunately we had neither a girl nor a gun.

What is it that they say? Great minds think alike? Because right today I had the same idea and already drawed this face. But I feel as if I would cheat, having all the fun without my friends, so I'm afraid we will have to wait for pictures till next year. I also want to do the pottery scene Laughing

Thanks for the laugh!

You - and all the others - are very, very welcome!

PS: If you like - keep the ideas coming everyone Laughing I'll make sure to write it down.

Some more pictures: The episode "Spirits". SG-1 (minus Jack) visits Tonane, Takaya and the Salish.

And later on the wounded Jack with the arm in a cast sees Tonane off at the gate in the SGC.

Enjoy!

Oh Lis these are wonderful! I see you had a few pretty good ideas yourself! I also wanted to do an Abyss-scene with Jack hanging at the wall, that would be cool. Unfortunately I don't own Jaffa Teal'c so I don't have that little symbiont. Looks great with Jack!

And also the fishing scene! Did you make the chairs yourself? And Mitchell hanging in midair by the prior! These really are great! I also love what you did with the surroundings.

Gerda, your little native Americans are also very nice!

With the Link does not functioned, sorry.

Here the Story however only into German.

Als erstes mein SG-1 Team

Mein SG-1 Team besteht aus:

General Jonathan „Jack“ O’Neill
Colonel Cameron Mitchell
Colonel Samantha “Sam” Carter
Dr. Daniel Jackson

Anubis

Anubis' rote Jaffa Soldaten

Lis--these are wonderful! I finally got a few spare moments to look through this thread. As a doll collector, I can totally identify with making these little scenes. Even the scatalogical (bathroom) humor was very cute and creative.

Hi Gerda--that is Vina! She is from the pilot for the original Star Trek. Though Vina wasn't really green, she did appear as a green Orion slave girl in one of the fantasies created by the Talosians for Captain Pike. That's who I took my screen name from. I recently saw an episode of Star Trek Enterprise where they had 3 green Orion slave girls also. Vina was originally played by Susan Oliver. The only action figure they have done of Vina was this green one.

When the desert khaki Sam comes out this fall, this Vina will have some real competition for Jack! Laughing

I'm getting closer to it - already have the chair!

For Lis and all the others out there looking for little things - a less expensive way to get some would be doing papercraft models! Yesterday I found these little office chairs here http://www.paperpino.net/showroom/ and I already made one. It takes some time and skill though but it even can spinning and I love it!

Here you can download a papercraft model of the puddle jumper http://paperaviation.de/PuddleJumper/puddlejumper.html

and here you get a papercraft Stargate http://www.aphrodite.com/~sum1els/sg1/papermodels.html

This http://cp.c-ij.com/english/3D-papercraft/building/index.html is a site that has lots of papercraft models, including buildings of the world - the great pyramid or the sphinx of Egypt, for example, which also would make a great background for the action figures. I definitely want to build these!

All these downloads are for free. Have fun and let us see the outcome!

Hi Maria...I found her on a British web site...scifistudio.com. They had one in stock. It sometimes shows up on eBay too. Also there is a smaller figure of the green Vina that shows up on eBay, but this 7" one is a better likeness of actress Susan Oliver.

I met with some friends in Berlin over the weekend so you can look forward to a lot of new pictures! I will post some at a time.

At first I decided to whump Jack a little. He's hurt at the knee, wrist and also has a headwound. And Sam is reading his medical file.

You're right with that Embarassed I got the gurney from an X-file figure (Dr. Dana Scully) but she is a little smaller than the SG-1 ones.

And I want to make a pillow yet so that he can rest his head and the feets are dangling in the air Laughing

Actually we asked Thor if he could heal him but something went wrong... which made Sam very upset!

*hides* Well, actually the whumping scene was my idea. If you want to see strange ideas from my friends, then look at this:

This is how Mitchell really became the leader of SG-1 and what actually happened to Jack.

That might be the case! But not only Jack has bad knees, but Daniel and Mitchell also. They all have the same cloned body. And you thought that by cloning all the old aches are gone.

I really hope that when Jack will be wear the desert camo uniform he also will be able to bend his knees and to ride his new bicycle I bought especially for him!

I want to continue my little story with the whumped Jack. We were five women and one had this idea and the next that, so it all came together in the end and we were laughing hard all the time.

At first some deleted scenes of the previous story that now at least made it into the extras of the DVD: I forgot to tell you that there was a little action before they could bring Jack home. He wasn't able to take a part in it himself, but Sam, Teal'c and Daniel managed without him just fine.

And now the conclusion:

Thor continued trying to heal Jack but somehow his healing device must have had a loose contact because the next thing he managed was this:

This also was the moment when Sam fainted. Big time.

(The finger of the set decorator in the previous picture has yet to be removed by the post production)

Finally Thor got it right and Jack wonders what happened. Daniel is helping him while Teal'c takes care of Sam.

(I especially like the silver hair in this one above)

Next week - same time, same channel - you'll see a whole new adventure of SG-1. Stay tuned!

This week's episode was presented by

Thanks for all the nice feedback! Today we see a new adventure of the fearless four - oops, five.

This is what happened: Sam came back to camp from doing a perimeter just in time to shoot the two Jaffa. Mitchell already was down. Teal'c had been getting water in a bucket and therefore his hands weren't free to take place in the battle.

Vala was much more interested in the treasure and Daniel still was examinating his artefacts without taking notice of the battle around him.

Afterwards Sam asked Mitchell what he actually had been doing there with the frying pan.

His answer: "I was looking for eggs..."

And I just realized that the double meaning of the joke isn't working in English actually.

Especially that invisible Jack sitting on the toilet. That was Riot!!! Laughing I especially liked those Egyptian figures on each side of the toilet. That was cool! Very Happy I also liked that green woman from that Star Trek episode. She was really cool too! I think Sam might be a big jealous her. Wink Being a Star Trek fan from Way Back, I remember that episode with Captain Pike. That was a good episode! Smile Also that was funny when you had Thor turning Jack into a cat. LOL Glad Thor was able to transform Jack back to his normal self. Smile

Anyway, just wanted to say how much Gatebee and I really enjoyed your pictures! They Were GREAT!!!! Feel Free to make some more scenarios with your figures. We would Love to see them! Very Happy

Sincerely,
Nancy

Macfanatic and Gerda,

thank you for all the lovely feedback! Be assured, there is a lot more to come, I just have to regroup myself first, just came back from vacation and have to catch up with mails.

As for the book, I indeed intent to make a scrapbook with the pictures. In fact I want to put pictures (screenshots) of the scene in the series at the left site and then our pictures with the puppets at the right site, for comparsion. And then I'll add all your comments and some very nice stickers I found (some about "Gone fishing" and golfing!) and I think that will look very nice. I'll show you the outcome once I'm finished.

Right now I'm about to make a table tennis table and some bats, so that Jack and Teal'c can play Laughing We got the idea when we saw a really little table tennis set, complete with rack and bats, but it was too expensive to buy it just for fun. It would have matched the hight of the figures, though, but it was a real set where you could play table tennis.

As for the not working joke with the eggs, I believe you also can roast nuts in a pan Cool

Are there by chance any Vala/Mitchell-Shipper around here?

There are more but they are NC-17 and I only can send them to you if you give me your mail Rolling Eyes

Yeah, it really looks as if Vala has been jumping at him, doesn't it? Laughing

I do have a new episode for you. Today we see season 4 "Double Jeopardy"

This shall be the scene where the two Jacks are fighting and Sam was saying "Sirs? As much as I would like to see how that ends..." or something like that. Unfortunately the arms of the figures didn't bent properly, so that's all we got them to do.

Sam and Teal'c don't know what to make out of it.

Before that the robots had been captured and Robo-Daniel had to step forward.

Robo-Jack disguised himself as one of Cronos's guards. And I think he did pretty good (the grey cape he had stolen from the Ori-prior).

Since we didn't have any Darian Robo-Daniel gets his head shot off by a Jaffa. All are taken by surprise and throw up their hands in the air. (Notice also the wooden figure in the background my friend found in some part of her apartment Smile )

The head is rolling over the floor (and was last seen in the Legends Memorabilia Shop at Avalon Wink )

And now I'm revealing that we resp. my friend only got this idea since her Daniel always lost his head, but that isn't actually news for us, isn't it? Laughing

You don't suppose the Wraith ever wash their hands after feeding? Living Cake Man will give them a whooping calorie load as well as a hand full of sugar. I wonder if the Wraiths ever have to diet? Maybe that is the way to defeat them. High blood sugar! - Living Cake Man is really a secret weapon in disguise!

Hi girls!

I just realized that I still have some pictures from our last "session" which I hadn't posted yet since they needed a little tweaking first. It happened that Jack was standing around with his arm in the air and somebody said he looked like John Travolta Smile

So we thought, why should they not all have a little dance? And we called the whole thing "Last day of shooting"

Re: Astra'a dancing pics.

If I remember rightly from when I used to dance.....(yes, I used to do all that and I'm not ashamed to admit it [I wasn't too bad either!!! Razz Wink ]) I think that the John Travolta dance that Jack is doing is just called 'Night Fever' or 'Night Fever Husstle' (or something like that anyrate!)

You can always try ebay.com also for the figures that are sold out in the shop. Sometimes the shipping from America is a bit expensive, though.

At the moment I'm trying to get a Daniel in blue uniform, that was the case topper for Atlantis.

@LuvRDA: Thanks, I'll add it to the picture!

Maybe you remember, I posted the link with Sam and the flag. I wanted to make myself a bare chest Jack, so somebody gave me the hint to buy "Buffy" figures, namely Angel and Spike. So here is what I have done today:

I just ripped off the heads of Angel and Spike, and found that the joints are different than in the Stargate figures. So I found myself with two holes - one in the neck of the figures and one in the head of Jack. So I had to make myself a new joint out of a stick and two pearls:

Therefore Angel's head had a bigger hole and I will need to cut the neck a bit, Jack's head is to high on it yet.

Angel is the same size as Jack, but Spike is much smaller. I think Jack's head looks too big on him. But his abs are nicer Smile

The skin tones don't match, Jack's is much darker. Instead of painting the bodies, I just photoshopped the color of the head and also got rid of the wounds by that. It's not perfect but would you consider this cheating? I'm not sure yet about painting the body(s).

LOL Astra how very inventive of you Wink

You made a new joint well done.

You wanted to have a bear chest Jack well it looks like you had success with changes the heads.
You do need to make a shirt for him as well now Wink

I do like just the way Jack is himself though ,dont want a Arnold Zwarzenegger as a Jack 'O Neill saying I'll be back Laughing

Lis thanks for the link.

LOLOLOLOL

I'm beginning to think Astra's three fries short of a Happy Meal!

The guy that used to cut my hair fixed barbie dolls - his friends started calling him FrankenBarbie. So, bist du FrankenJack?

Two things.

1) RDA doesn't have abs to speak of LOL

2) and while his torso is big, his arms and legs aren't. Maybe you could put Spike's arms and legs on Angel's body? Then you'd have to match the colors - maybe a patch of grey hair on the chest, too LOL

Not only three, that much is for sure Smile (hope nobody does mind? It's nothing we haven't already seen in the show, after all)

Maybe - I'm not sure though why they called a guy 'Barbie'? Unless it was a joke with 'barber'?

Quote:

I'm not sure, but I think for political correctness we should speak about Jack here, not RDA Smile Mainly about the Jack from season 1. "Brief candle", "Broca Divide"... and not to forget the episode with Hathor. But yeah, I know what you mean, but remember when you guys were explaining the "crunches" joke to me? Laughing

Do you actually also have this expression "give her the little finger and she takes the whole hand"? - oh, I think I remember, wasn't it "in for a penny, out for a pound" or something like that? Anyway, I know the English thread is somewhere else Smile

The arms might be possible, good idea actually, but I'm not sure about the legs, whether the joints will fit since these are made differently. I actually also like the barefoot thing. Plus with the other legs he would became much smaller again, compared with other figures. I'll have to think about it.

They called him "FrankenBarbie" because he rebuilt Barbie diolls

Some of them date to the late 50's and are collectables.

Laughing

RDA himself always commented on his thick waist - I recently rewatched an interview (don't ask me which one) where he said he was always self-conscious about it, until he saw his father and brothers all sitting around shirtless at his cabin, and they were all built the same as he, so he decided it was genetic and he stopped worrying about it LOL.

The phrase is "In for a penney , in for a pound", and we say "Give him an inch, he'll take a mile".

We also go "whole hog" on something when we're in it all the way. LOL

And I like the barefoot thing too. I know, he could be "ParadiseLostJ!ack". Very Happy

Nice pictures, Lis! I don't think your bigger ramp does look bad compared to the gate. At least all of SG-1 can walk up there and the MALP also fits.

I have ordered my figures yesterday!

How do you like the little SGC top secret folders I created today? Not sure if Jack's liking what he reads. The folder include several other documents, also:

Lis...They look good! And I like the double-wide Ramp...it's closer to actual scale, I think.

Astra, those documents are impressive!

Glad you liked my little folders! I once purchased this folder in real size. It includes a destination file (the yellowish one), two letters to General Hammond and Daniel Jackson, and a mission report written by Jack O'Neill.

So all I had to do was scanning these and making them smaller. Pretty cheap, hu? Laughing

Today I found an arrow. Well, I have it for some days actually, it came together with the Spike figure I ordered for customizing. But today I found the arrow again and suddenly had an inspiration what to use it for. Do you suspect yet? Yeah, it's the scene from "Spirits":

Actually there should be Daniel holding Jack from behind, but since he can't kneel... I had to skip this.

Thanks mysteryknitter, that's all I want to achieve with my pictures, a chuckle or a smile. It's the best payment ever.

For anybody that also wants to buy those top secret SGC folders, you can get them from Legends Memorabilia here:

http://www.stargateprops.com/catalogue/shopexd.asp?id=20058

While you're at it, check out the rest of the shop as well. They have great replicas and also real props and costumes which were used in the series.

I have some new SG-1 action figures that I want to sell. So if anyone is interested, please email me at: sci-fi_writer@hotmail.com.

Sorry, if you feel this post is OT, Astra. I don't feel it is necessary to start another action figure thread, and I want to be certain that people see it. Let me know what you think. I can always remove it.

Hi! I'm back from my Easter vacation with lots of new nice pictures, so stay tuned, there will be more!

We had some kind of snow storm instead of spring weather, so we let SG-1 have fun playing in the snow as well:

Daniel seems not to enjoy it as much as Jack and Sam, though:

And Teal'c seems to think "That is not wise, O'Neill!"

They also made a snowball fight:

Jack throws a snowball:

Daniel gets hit:

Sam's also holding up her end of this:

Then she decides to make a snow angel instead:

... while Teal'c is hiding until the madness ceases:

Then Sam wants to build a snowman:

While Jack still is throwing snowballs.
But Daniel is ducking away this time. So I guess Sam will get hit!

And J & S together...Awww...I admit I thought "Oh boy, S must be one happy girl", and then my thoughts flew...can you guess where? But well...Chicago must be a nice place as well. And especially One Certain Secret Mountain.

Thanks for all your comments! I'm glad I could make you laugh, it's all I want to achieve!

I just finished making the ramp wider and can't wait to show you the outcome.

Before:

I purchased an extra Thor to get more parts and then sawed it in the middle, to get two halfs. This is the ramp part

... and this is the part for the steps, one of it is already glued together.
If you look carefully you also will notice that I put little leftover parts of plastic where before was a hole (for the steps to fit onto the grooves at the side of the ramp):

And the ramp after the customizing (I need to remove those white parts yet, the newspaper at the table stuck to the glue a bit):

Now two people are able to stand together on it, and hopefully it also will be wide enough for the MALP to fit (still haven't got this wave).

Today a little adventure of Daniel in the desert:

Look what he has found! A mummy, a ZPM...

He isn't even bothered when a spider visits him:

And then writes his notes down into his notebook with a pencil:

You're right, the spider is dangerous!

Here is the second part of the desert story:

There was an Earth quake (or rather "planet quake"?) and Jack was hit by a falling pillar:

Daniel, Sam and Teal'c rush over to help him:

Teal'c tries to lift the pillar to free Jack:

While Jack can't move he gets bitten by a spider:

Teal'c and Sam carry him to the gate. He is not allowed to walk because of the poison in his blood stream. He has a broken right arm, too, but that's not as important anymore!

@Lanthir: No symbionts for Jack, we will heal him the old fashion way Wink

@MacsChick: Who doesn't love a good whump now and then?

@Fandango: The pillars are made out of cardboard rolls (you know, after the kitchen paper is empty), and I just printed out pictures of hieroglyphs from the internet and glued them onto the rolls.

The notebook I did not make, it comes with the Ori prior, at the front there is the symbol for origin.

So here comes the third and final part, the one in the infirmary:

Jack's pretty banged up. He has a headwound, a sling for the broken arm and also a bandage for the spider's bite:

Since we still don't have a Janet figure we desperately needed a doctor, so the Ori prior got a white lab coat. My friend works for a doctor herself and had fun setting up the IV into Jack's arm, I think it looks very professional:

The doctor looks at the x-ray:

Then he sets up another IV:

Sam has brought the spider along so that they can find the right antidote:

We didn't have a work table, so we created this one. It's made from a whetstone and the legs are little cream cheese containers Smile
There are documents, books, a microskope (although a bit small for the spider), a skeleton. I also have a computer monitor but forgot to put it up as well:

Some things I bought (the infusions stand, the microscope, the x-ray-picture), some things I already had (the spider), some are toys that I have been given from a friend since her son is too old for it (the skeleton, the glass, the medical case), and some come with the action figures (the book, the life sign detector)

LOLOLOL you made the lab coat out of papertowels!

Reminds me of when I was a kid and used Kleenex to make outfits for my dolls so they could ride my model horses. The dresses they came with weren't very practical.

That stupid spider isn't going to get loose in the lab, is it????

You notice how it crawled all over Daniel's leg and never bothered him. Jack...nope, he gets bitten. Laughing

How did you guess? Laughing We tried indeed for the first time to make a real movie, where we only move them a little part and then put the many pictures together, like stop&go motion. There it runs over the table, and then when it's on the ground, Teal'c stamps onto it! I haven't seen the movie yet myself, but I will post it in here, if you are interested. It's hard work for a short scene, but so fun!

Right! Jack's always the one aliens are poking holes into him - alien spiders included Laughing

And it's growing and growing... For those scenes in the sand would have been the desert figures much better, but alas, they still haven't arrived.

Thanks for your comment!

Astra, it would be very fun to see your movie! Boy, I know animation takes a lot of effort. When I was much younger, I tried my hand at both stop-motion and cell...would spend the whole weekend doing frame by frame...all for maybe a minute's worth of action!

Lis, thanks for sharing! Pretty cool!

Hey Fandango! This is priceless! Did you do these? You never told me you also had "puppets"! How come you did not join the fun before? I'd definitely like to see more!

As for the movie, I have to wait till my friend completes it and sends it to me, then of course I'll post it.
I have to ask, though - what kind of movie is "cell"?

@Lanthir: Jack and Daniel can't sit, they don't have any knee joints. That's the problem with all the scenes we want to do.

Well, I have another story, where Jack did not have to sit at all:

After a while Jack has a whole plate full with steaks, and at the grill now lie sausages and shashlik, and he calls Sam over to get something while he is drinking from his beer bottle:

Sam reluctantly leaves her beach chair to get something to eat:

Attempting to reply, one more time.... (I had the post mostly typed and then the power went out! Yes, and the battery back up is officially dead. Sigh....)

Thank you! And yes I did! (Note: bad photography! Razz )

Well, seeing as how you asked.... I didn’t start collecting the figures until autumn last year and then I only acquired one at a time. My more recent additions came unpackaged and a few of the extras were MIA. I have yet to complete a DHD and just now have a complete gate ring (no ramp). As for other props, I have deliberately kept my sources restricted, as I really don’t want to just go out and spend too much money...so I use only ‘foundlings’...things I find at the beach (flotsam) or things rescued from the expired Lost and Found from my workplace (items are kept for three months and then are dispensed with, given to employees who need them, given to charities or thrown out...it is my responsibility to take care of this). To date, I still have only a tiny collection of small props. (There are some things I have a lot of, however. Note: the entire set for the Limited Action Figures wall was made up of flotsam, including the fabric floor. Spidey is a Lost and Found refugee...and I have a handful of varied other action figures that came ashore.)

Also, I am also not yet part of the digital age when it comes to photography. I am still using a 35mm and so it takes a while to finish a roll and have it dealt with at the lab. I also tend to overthink what I’m setting up as well...so I produce creations slowly sometimes. Those two wall have been 'in the works' for at least a month. Rolling Eyes

Quote:

“Cell” refers to sheets of celluloid on which pictures are draw in progressive sequence. One cell equals one frame of film (if it is excellent animation). The best examples of this would be much of the older Disney animations or maybe Looney Tunes. I worked in 16mm. That’s 24 frames per second. Even if you ‘cheat’ and only do one cell per every two frames (still pretty smooth movement), that’s still 720 individual drawings per minute. That’s one Flippin’ amount of work!!!! Shocked

Astra...what kind of lighting do you use? I have yet to actually set up a good ‘stage’ area and must admit that I do not own any pro lights or much other equipment, for that fact.

I’m loving your stories!!! Too fun! Very Happy

Smiles,
Diana

You can pick one up in K-mart as well.

Well, I don't mind reading a ship story if it is well written, but I'm not such a dedicated shipper as others. I go for everything that just has Jack in it, but love team stories (with whump Smile ) most.

Yeah, I can imagine it being difficult, when you are late in the game. I was kinda late myself and very lucky still to get series 1. Glad you got a Jack, since he is sold out mostly!

That's what I liked so much about your pictures, the look of them, you go with open eyes and see what can be used. Since I own the figures I can't look at a thing without immediately pondering what I could make out of it.

Please look at these pictures here (in the woods) http://forum.gateworld.net/showpost.php?p=6949034&postcount=56

and here (at a lake) http://forum.gateworld.net/showpost.php?p=7914815&postcount=145
- some guy over at Gateworld made those, aren't they awesome?

Well, I'd like to see more interaction with the other figures!

Yeah, I can relate to that, for a long time I had to relate onto friends (who only visited once a year) with digital cameras, but now I got one myself. It was about time, was tired of scanning every picture for sending it by e-mail.

Quote:

There is nothing to say against setting stuff up properly (I'm a perfectionist myself) but if you ask me - take some likewise crazy fans/friends and have some fun together - the puppets will get a life on their own! We giggle all the time.

I love the old Disney movies. I just never heard the word "cell" (other than in cell phone Smile ). I thought it was called "drawed animated movie" (that's the term around here). There is a studio where I live, I wanted to learn and work there, we even have been there with school, but then the Berlin wall came down, the world changed and a lot of businesses got shot down.

But it's kinda interesting, how I have come back to this, with setting up these little scenes. I was always more interested in the set decoration.

Well, no professional things here, either, this is the ordinary day light (or lamps, if it's evening), and the flashes from the cameras. There are some bad shadows in some of the pictures, though. But as I said - the fun we have is the most important thing.

There might be indeed a party going on - as you can see in this picture:

Hey nice Banlu!

Looks like a good k.i.s.s. fixture...but I was thinking also about the actual kind of bulb...florescent vs tungsten (or other)... what range of K°. Astra’s color balance is always good, whether indoors or outside. There’s also a lack of ‘hot spots.’ In short, I guess I need to experiment a bit…it’s just frustrating when it takes so much time (and funds) before I see results.

Thanks,
Diana

Well, to be honest, I only show you the good pictures Smile That's the good thing with digital cameras, you can do lots of shots, and only use the good ones later, and throw away the rest. There are some that are too dark, or where the shadows are too much, or some that are just done from a weird angle, and I can't show them to you. Sometimes I try to do a bit with photoshop, but not much, since I'm no expert.

As for the lack of "hot spots" - guess that's just luck. I heard others complaing about the "glossy" looking faces of some figures, so that they look unnatural.

But I have to admit, I never saw this through the eyes of a professional photographer.

Lol! I've always been the assistant, never the pro! I just don't have the technical smarts for it. I know just enough to be 'dangerous.' And worse, I'm dumb enough to keep talking myself into trying the complicated stuff again. Absolutely idiotic!!! I'm far better off if I tell myself, "Do what comes natural."

I gotta look into a digital camera..... sigh! Rolling Eyes

So, are you girls up for another action-story? Well, nothing fancy, just an ordinary day in the life of SG-1...

Sam and Teal'c got caught by some big bad "god" and his jaffa (if you ask why only them - since these puppets are the only ones that can kneel Smile ):

Teal'c had been misbehaving and therefore got a little more "attention" so that he fell down powerless (in truth the puppet just did not keep kneeling, but we came up with a pretty good cover, hu?):

Then Jack came to the rescue and yelled "Down!" which Sam immediately followed, while Jack is spreating the area with bullets (just like in our favourite scene in that one episode, you know...):

While Jack shoots down one jaffa Teal'c gets up to come to his help:

Jack threw his zat to Sam, who is covering Teal'c's back now:

Teal'c is in a close staff weapon battle with the jaffa leader:

After they won (of course, did you doubt it?) they search for Daniel, and fear he might lay in the sarcophagus (again):

But instead he was hiding behind one pillar all the time, and now asks: "Are you guys searching for me? I just found incredible hieroglyphs, you just have to see them, over here..."

As I said, just an ordinary day.

Right from the beginning when I first laid eyes onto the pictures of the new desert figures, I didn't like the green splotches. So, all the time I said, I want to repaint them. Which I now did.

In addition to that, Daniel has the wrong sleeves at his uniform, so I painted the cuffs of him green, so that it looks more like the other jacket. I also gave Jack silver hair instead of the brown one.

From pictures I learnt that the brown lines go NOT all around the green splotches. And that the splotches have to be larger and more irregular than before. I tried to use most of the other green things somehow, though, for fear the beige wouldn't be able to hide them.

I painted the beige parts new as well, since I did not like the dark brown. It is lighter now.

I paid special attention to Jack's cap, had asked for pictures to match the pattern. As you can see, the green still is a bit too dark, guess I have to mix it with a bit white, to make it even lighter. But that was the best I could get so far, and I wanted to finish, since next weekend we will do more actionfigure-stories!

But overall, I think it looks better than before.

WOW! Astra, they look great! I'm impressed! I could use some of your talent!

Son #2 wants me to try to make a staff weapon for him to use with this year's halloween costume. He is going as a Jaffa. He bought a Zat gun replica model, and I am working on getting that put together & painting, then I can focus on his robes. Darn. Means I have to watch SG-1 more...

The kid has undying faith in his ol' Ma to be able to pull it off...the way I see it, MacGyver had it EASY! He didn't have his little kids, eyes full of love, expecting him to pull off miracles!! (okay, so my "little kid" is 6'5" and 280lbs, but the eyes are still full of love...)

Oiy! ^_^

Astra, Those turned out great!!! (I have been hoping to see the finished project....) I do like your colors better. Personally, I have been wondering exactly what desert Diamond was looking at when they made their choice. LOL! The majority of Earth's deserts do not have bright green splotches. The only one I know of is the Sonoran, and I still don't think the pattern would work there. You're muted colors are much better.

KatX, I think you have your hands full! Wink

Well, I have a few projects in the works, but at the rate I'm (not) progressing...they should be done sometime this winter. Rolling Eyes

Smiles,
Diana

Astra, sehr gut! Die Farben sind sehr besser als vor!

Try mixing the green with the beige - it will keep the color in the same tint.

KatXander, nice that you do so much for your son! Smile Maybe you can do it together, instead of you working alone? Would be even more fun! Maybe your son has some useful ideas? You can use the first picture I posted for reverence how the staff weapon should look like.

Me, just last weekend I did a puddle jumper together with my dad. You can download a papercraft model for free here:

http://www.paperaviation.de/PuddleJumper/puddlejumper.html

It actually isn't difficult glueing it together, but the darn thing just didn't want to stay the way it was supposed to. So I just needed a second pair of hands for holding. The same day my dad made me some legs for the little table tennis table I had created. Legs that can be bent, but don't slip sideways when the table shall be used. Yeah, my father has golden hands!

And you can look forward to seeing Jack and Teal'c playing table tennis, as they did in season 8!

This winter, Fandango? But... but... but that is a very long time!

Try mixing the green with the beige - it will keep the color in the same tint.

That's what I did, actually. See, our minds think alike! The green was even darker to begin with, so I mixed in some beige. But if I had used more of it, it would have turned more brownish instead of greenish, so I had to settle with that. That's why I think white would be better. I only had purchased green, beige and brown and didn't want to go back to the shop, but wanted to get it over and done with.

I already was there a second time, since the first green I bought looked at the lid almost the same (only a bit lighter) but when applied, it was rather yellowish!

I also mixed some tiny ammount of the green into the beige, so that it would be not too bright. Had do go over it a second time, though, since the first time I had it a bit more greenish. Apparently, the pictures I used to look at are different when different light is shining onto the uniforms. The one of Jack in Kate's book looks more like a light green than beige. Might be the printing, or might be the lighting.

The brown for the little lines, however, had a certain red touch when it came out of the tin. So, I tried a bit of green to mix in for that as well, and it worked!

Edit: Thanks to mysteryknitter and Lanthir for the comments as well. They came in when I was typing this long message Wink

Three projects in progress....one involving broken crab traps, second involves boat insulation foam (or at least that what I assume it is), third involves Fimo (plastic clay) (customizing heads...feels kind of like trying to customize peanuts). All results questionable at the moment. And all of this beyond trying to figure out the didgital camera, so I can take pics of the final products. First I have to finish the Zat, then I can do the robes...my sons do want to help, but they are more of the "technical advisors" type. P2 will still-frame and draw out things for me to make, since he's quite the artist. Charlie, my oldest, can help me fig out the mechanics of some of this, like what to make the head of the staff weapon out of, if I can get the robes done early enough. These kids have always kept me on my toes as far as making things!

We started out when P2 wanted to go to a renaissance festival for his b-day once...in costume! I had no clue how to sew, but his undying faith in me led me to learn. We started out easy (peasants the first year), and eventually I learned how to make lined doublets, hats, and corsets. I have no real talent, but I never let that stop me. I still can't read a pattern to save my life.

When we got hooked on SG-1, the ren thing all went out the window. Even Char, who is not much of a costume party kind of guy, now wants to get into "Daniel mode (beings as he's an archaeologist!)" and join in the fun. I'm lucky...at least I don't have to wear a corset to be in the SGC!!!

Hee hee...

Well, would you consider showing us work-in-progress pictures? I think it is very interesting to see how you did some things.

You know, I recently posted pictures of a customized K.I.T.T. model I did years ago. Today I wish I had made some pictures of the stages in between. Just to show what kind of material I used and how inventive it was.

And I know Fimo as well! Have done some things with it already.

KatXander, this sounds like an awesome project, and I think it deserves its own thread. You seem to be a very creative family! I like that!
And I like especially that not knowing how to do things didn't ever stop you. That's the right spirit!

We should make a thread for costumes and the like, maybe others have done similar things before? At conventions there always is a costume contest, and I have seen some pretty good things!

I attended as "Dr. Fraiser" once, in a white coat, with an operation hat at the head (which had been a swimming cap before) and I had one of those wooden snakes that move when held in the right way, as a freshly removed symbiote Laughing

Teryl Rothery and Don S. Davis were in the jury (among others) and while Teryl was afraid of the snake and tried to flee, Don did want to see it closer and try it out himself.

Astra, You're braver than I am...I don't think I could do a costume contest (too chicken)! What I would love to do, just for laughs, is have a symbiote sitting on the shoulder of my field jacket, sort of like a parrot would be on a pirate. I just can't find a symbiote, and there are no Goa'uld around...

But that's just me...never one for being too serious if it can be helped.

Denise, I already tried that! Great minds think alike, or something like that! I have a wonderful, wonderful bicycle, even the brakes are working - alas, Jack is not able to sit on it. The legs just don't allow it. And with his stiff knees, riding is out of question.

I had hoped for the promised knee joints at the desert figures, but now I have to think this over a bit yet.

Thanks to all for your laughter! Glad to be of service! And I guess I won't have to check with the others to give permission to show RDA whatever Kate decides. It would be a great honor.

Very true to life then eh? LOL! Poor Jack! Very Happy

hmm....but if it was me, I'd be looking for a way to put my own "hinges" in the knees - they're covered by clothing all the time so it might be fun to explore the possibilities! *thinks*.....I wonder if the hardware store has anything I could use........think like MacGyver, Denise!!

Knee transplants from a Ken doll (don't use hot glue, though...it doesn't stick)!!! I wouldn't be able to do it, though...I anthropomorphise too much, and would end up apologizing profusely throughout the 'surgery'!

Now that I see what these little 'stories' are, I have to backtrack & look. I've missed so much by not being on here sooner!

I know. I haven't been able to try 'head popping' yet...although I will have to in the future. Yee-gads!

But I will tell you that I have multiple Jacks and am pretty careful about keeping them out of each others' sight...lest they go to fighting while I'm not watching! Laughing

Now, about those WIP photos.... Uhmmmm, you see, I don't want to give anything away (just in case I actually do get things finished). Once done, I'll offer some behind-the-scenes photos.... Wink Sorry gang, I'm just that way. Confused

Well, not sure if you ever have "felt" any of the action figures, but no, there is no clothing, the cloths are molded on. So no chance of covering, sorry.

That is a very good idea! I don't think my friends need any encouragement, they have enough "wacko" ideas themselves, but I will write it into my shooting schedule. What, you don't believe I have one? We're professionals! (nobody bothered with it, though, since we were very good in improvising. Apparently somebody did take a hint or two from RDA Laughing

And that "Kein ende in sicht" - (No end in sight) is that the name of the scene?! like "Mirror of Oppotunity"

and... which one is the Table football? - Tischfussball?!

Very Happy (Ich kann kline deutch sprechen, aber night gut Razz)

I really like it....! and I see that you are alot of persons in your "studio" Wink

The Drehplan/shooting schedule I wrote before, just wrote down some ideas what we could do, but of course knew that we would have different funny ideas once all were together. So some of my ideas did not get used yet, but there's always next time, right?

Yeah, the titles are the German titles of the episodes.

"Das Licht / The Light"

"Urgo / Urgo"

"O'Neill & Laira / A hundred days"

"Moebius / Moebius"

"Die Vertreibung / Sacrifices"

"Kein Ende in Sicht / Window of Opportunity" (You're right, I also like that one better)

"Das verlorene Paradies / Paradise lost"

All in all we were 10 persons that evening!

And this would be the table football/soccer:

I love the Foosball game! Is that what the dolls do when you're not posing them?

Have they ever gone fishing for pesky fish? I am slowly but surely going through the backlog of the pictures, but I had to stop. I was laughing so hard that I had trouble breathing (nothing bad, just hyperventilated). My son keeps leaning over to see what is so darn funny. He says you are having waaaay too much fun!!

Keep up the great work!

Where on Earth did you get a 1/6 scale foosball table? Jeeze! Your puppets have a posh life, I tell ya'! My figures are lucky just to have their weapons....
I also enjoyed seeing your studio crew! (The English name for that thing is a "clap-board.") I'm impressed. Actually, I'm very impressed! It looks like you all have a blast, too! You know, 10 people...that's more crew than some independent film productions have! LOL!!!

Is that a new game you two invented? Foosball? Sounds like a mixture between football and Fussball Rolling Eyes Laughing

Diana, that table was in possession of my brother for years before we even started with the figures. It was not bought extra for them. We have lots of such little things. You can really play with it. I guess it is for taking it at a ride with you, to entertain the children. The legs were a bit short, though, as you can see we had to invent something for making it higher.

I'm still searching for a billard table, though, so that Sam can do her famous shot from "Upgrades". Actually, I could buy one and many other things (weight bench for Jack, or a locker) here

http://the-special-shop.com/EN_shop.asp?shopneu=

(go to "miniatures", then "themes" and then "sports/hobby"), but it is very expensive.

Ah, thank you! Such special things are not in the dictionary Smile So it is not so far from the German word "Klappe".

Not by me, but there is a nice picture of Lis with Jack and Sam fishing. We intended too, but there was no time. Next time, I swear. There are a lot of shippers among us.

That's what they called it when I was a child. I think maybe they gave it the silly name to help distinguish the table game from the field game. Or maybe it was just the brand name of the company that made the table game.... Confused Laughing I don't know.... Very Happy

Too cool! That's a nice link you gave. Indeed, a little pricey, but nice. I live in a strange area...we have a lot of the problems of a big city, but not nearly all of the conveniences. There's only one real hobby shop and they don't carry any doll house materials / accessories...nor do any of the craft shops. Go figure.... Just leaves me to invent some things, MacGyver a few others.... Very Happy

Denise, you are right with the aprons, how could I forgot my costume designer! This is her, she also made the pizza for the following pictures. We made all of this the previous day, that's why I forgot about it. She cut out the aprons, and I wrote the names onto them Laughing

Fandango, you are right with the foosball, I looked it up today (since at a different board somebody also called it, and I thought you can't all mistake the t for the s) and it seems it really is the name of the game! Never heard that before!

And on with the funny pictures - team evening for SG-1.

Every one of them has a quarter of pizza they can put on whatever they want. That is the reason it looks different, Sam's corner has lots of vegetable, for example.

Jack seems not to be too much interested in the pizza, though.

He and Teal'c found something better.

Sam and Daniel are working alone.

Then Sam goes to the fridge.
Notice the kitchen (back from Eastern German days Laughing) and we even had bottles with washing-up liquid standing there!

And while Sam isn't looking, Daniel is nibbling a bit.

HAHA Jack and his Beer! LOL!
That was a good one! But isn't his beer, his secret ingrediens on his food?!

I had to laugh when O'Neill said that the Guinness was a "good substitute for...food." We say that all the time now!

My son was curious about him dousing the steak with beer. He wasn't sure if it was for flavor, or to put out the flames!!

Well, he wants to try it. I said he could, with HIS steak! I'm not as brave.

Hi Kat,

Guinness is actually stout, a very rich brew, lower in alcohol than beer and with a much richer and stronger flavour and not as bitter as lager. Comparing Guinness with beer is a bit like comparing chocolate flavoured milk with melted chocolate. Very Happy

I'm not keen on beer but I love a Guinness with a nice creamy head on it! Maybe you should try one for Mother's Day while you're watching Stargate! Very Happy

My oldest agrees with you! He says he'll grab some on his way home.

I'll be like Daniel, though...one will do me in. "No more beer for YOU!"

Chocolate is good too...

Chocolate CAKE!! Dang. That show makes me hungry. We were watching "Urgo" the other week, and I was compelled to make pumpkin pies. This has happened 3 times so far!

Not that anyone minded. My neighbors (who get the second pie because I make them in pairs) always ask me if I'd watched "Urgo" again yet...hoping!!

Lanthir, I see you start to get the hang of this! Don't you want to engage your own team, and get some friends, and start playing as well? Now can you imagine what we did after that other scene - right, the one from the episode "Citizen Joe" with Jack talking on the cell phone to Sam and telling her about his secret incredients.

(Fandango, this was the first time the radio was useful for something Laughing)

And one from the top, so that you can see the eggs quite clearly (when I saw them, I just HAD to buy them. Granted, they are sunny side up and no omelette, but you have just to suspend disbelieve, here):

KatXander wrote:

Actually, whenever I see daddies doing barbecue, they have a bottle of beer with them. Not sure if they use it for the cooking or just drink it themselves Laughing, but actually, this seems indeed to be a very common flavor. I wasn't surprised when I saw Jack with the bottle.

I think mostly the beer is to make sure the COOK doesn't "dry out", but perhaps some makes its way to the food. That's why it comes in 6-packs and cases.

Jack loves his food and he's done BBQs so I don't find it unusual that he'd be cooking. Jack O'Neill lives alone when he's not on the base so he has to feed himself. What I can't picture is him dining at restaurants every night! Very Happy

To be quite honest, when I saw the bottles...to me they looked more like wine bottles than beer bottles (or at least American beer bottles). Embarassed Rolling Eyes Confused I know Jack loves his beer, but maybe a little wine with dinner?

Today I have a new episode for you! The one from season 3, "A Hundred Days". Some love it, some hate it, but I always like to see Jack chopping wood!

And later he uses the wet-stone to sharpen the ax again:

He searches for the Stargate:

Astra your a true artist Very Happy

LOL I love this and I also love the episode A Hundred days. It was a good episode and I loved watching it.
Dont know why some hated that episode Confused
We saw Jack and how he dealt with the fact he ight never go back home to earth again, and the woman who like loves him on this planet well It was a beautiful story though. He could give her only one thing and he did because he realy felt for this woman, but in the back of his head knowing they would do everything to come rescue him, and the woman knew in her heart he would not stay, but she loved him.

For me it was a good episode.

And now I enjoy jack shopping wood Very Happy To bad I dont have a fireplace Wink

Thanks Astra.

The only thing I didn't like about the episode was that I saw the woman as manipulative and scheming to get her claws into him...it seems she was in an awful hurry to get Jack to abandon his former life and be a part of hers! Especially her insistence he get rid of his uniform & gear...reminds me of my ex's GF...or am I just projecting????

Oh yeah...I am DEFINITELY in the Sam/Jack contingient! I had to laugh, because I caught a Season 9 (I think) episode the other day, where Mitchell put his arm around Sam...I'm like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? Get your bloody paws off of her!!" Then I started laughing at how ridiculous my reaction was!

Ah, but we DO love our characters! I'll just have to go take a tranquilizer or something...

But Katx... The thing is that we have seen Jacks and Sams "feelings" for years now... and we know that they "can't" get each other until Jack has retired.... and... They both has such a work that I'm not sure if they really would like to be together.. I meen.. jsut to woke up and realice.. "My Wife/Husband" can die today.. severly billions of lightears from your arms...."
brr what a nightmare.... Sad

But you know... We can see their love... So we try to protect them too Razz

Yes I see what you mean katX, but the way I saw it was that he reminded her on her husband too, and she did liked Jack because he is so special.
He did tell her he could not give her what she wanted, but only that one thing he could Wink
She realy thought he could never go back or she was kind of hoping who wouldn't LOL Wink
But she also knew he had to go back so she did kept his stuff and gave it back to him, because she knew he could not stay.
But did you noticed that when they left the planet and Jack was afed and could go back that when they went tough the gate we saw her and she kept her hands on her tummy when you do when your pregnant. Ever noticed?
So he did gave her something Wink
But they never did anything with this.

O well.

I also love Sam and Jack together.
I also though the same thing about Cam and Sam but she knew him already fro way back so she is just good friends.
But I understand your feelings KatX.

Lanthir see your point, but love is so much stronger Wink

Gerda.

What he'd say if she was preggers? "For cryin' out loud!!", of course!

Like I said, I had a tainted view, so my idea of her intent was definitely skewed! I'm just glad her guilt got the best of her before Teal'c was toast!

Still don't like Clammy Cam buddying up to Sammy, but that's because I don't like his character. I am REAL partial to my Colonels! *GRIN*

Guys, don't ever take me TOO seriously, really...unless it's a safety thing (then I am real serious).

I HAVE A QUESTION: How in the heck does Colonel get pronounced "KERNAL"??? Where is the "r"?

I'm always puzzled by the English language...silent vowels & consonants, odd spellings...I think it's because our language is derived from so many other languages, but we take the words, and forget the rules!!

^_^

...and I sometimes have fun with the language, deliberately skewing the meaning, pronunciation, or spelling! As my sig says:

Well take the word and breakit down phonetically. COLONEL-

The first part CO pronouned as in (co)operate - Next LO pronounced as in (Lo)w low and finally NEL as in the name NELL. Said fast comes out KERNAL. WELLAH!

I did...it didn't. *scratches head*

I like saying like the French do. Sounds nicer anyways, and reminds me how it's spelled. ^_^

Astra, Good axe! And I love the leafs...adds a real nice feel to the scene. Your props department continues to amaze me. Very Happy

I'm still working on things, but am finding that life has me stretched a bit thin. At least I've figured out how to access the memory card in the camera now. Razz

Malibu, nice lady...I still don't see where the "r" comes from. Laughing Laughing

Kat, you're okay, hun. We, as viewers, were asked to put a lot of energy into Jack and Sam's relationship. Thus we have every right to be protective if we want to be. And the same goes for the friendship between all of the original four.

So...if Jack really did sire a child with this lady...the kid would be kind of close to Wylie's age. Shocked Eh'hem. Ya' think...??? Wink

Think??...I try not to!!

^_^

Buuuut seriously, folks....

Yeah, I get 'defensive', but it's all in fun. I'm not so rabid about characters that I'm going to go slasher! I don't care for Mitchell, which is why I'm on here now (season 9 show on-air right now), but to each his/her own, and I will not begrudge anyone their own favorites!

Not too sure about the preggers thing...like Jack, I'd just say "AH!!" and not want to consider that! I'd rather snicker & giggle about the joke in "200" that Mitchell was Jack's 'love child'! I have a sick wish that Jack would be in on the prank, and maybe needle Mitchell a teeny bit in the movie, and set that doubt a liitle more.

But I have a twisted sense of humor! Slightly evil too...bwaaahhahahaaaaa!

^_^!

Okay, back to posting pictures. You thought that was all? Not by a long shot! Today we see the episode "Lost City" with Daniel balancing an orange at his beer bottle.

And look, Jack has an Enterprise and a Space Shuttle model next to his fireplace!

I just love this stuff! Too fun! And the fireplace is great...inventive!
Astra, thanks for sharing with us!!!

I wouldn't worry about Jack having to teach Teal'c things like putting his feet on tables. Teal'c is a guy; he can figure it out on his own! Laughing At least the table isn't glass top!![/i]

Thanks for all the great comments, girls!

Don't know, but we did check the DVD for this, and he had indeed his feet up on the table.

We checked for this, too, and there is a wooden frame somehow over all those stones, so that was what we tried to re-create!

But actually it was for a different scene - which I can't show you at this time of year Laughing

That is, because the person that used to bend the heads was not around for this scene. Only when I was trying to select the best pictures I noticed that they all somehow stare at the ceiling, as if there was something important Laughing To make it look more naturally, the heads should have been down, Daniel should have looked at this orange, rather than staring into thin air.

Well, we all still learn for next time.

But you're right, it also makes them look a bit drunk Laughing

Totally forgot to comment on this one:

Well, I have to admit, we did not make the leafs, they are just bought
Embarassed But I did make the axe myself. No biggie there. Just a stick and a bit aluminium foil.

Astra...that wasn't supposed to be a criticism!! I think they look funny! They DO look like they're sitting around, getting plastered! I'm sorry if it sounded like I was being catty.

You do a fantastic job! ^_^

No, no offense taken, don't worry! (That's why the Laughing were there)

I just wanted to explain, why these pictures didn't look as "real" as - say - the one with Jack and Teal'c clinking beer bottles in the kitchen. Now THIS one looked as if these were the real persons!

And I think it is amazing that one doesn't see it when setting the scene up, but only later, when looking at the pictures. Makes me wonder how they do it when shooting "Stargate" - they might also see something at film that they did not see before, yes? And go to re-shooting? Very difficult!
