GOMEZ

Gomez and his partner in the Mexican Border Patrol had been on duty as the army of General Vasquez in the nation to the south attempted to prevent MacGyver and Kate Conolly from crossing the border and escaping into Mexico. He watched from across the river as MacGyver and Kate prepared a diversion of smoke bombs and escaped inside a barrel which rolled through the army and into the river, from which they could swim to safety. As MacGyver and Kate emerged from the river, still under fire from Vasquez's men, Gomez greeted them warmly saying, "Welcome to Mexico. Do you have anything to declare?"
