In New York to promote the premiere of his television movie, Through the Eyes of a Killer, Richard spoke to Julie Golden of Good Day New York about his departure from the MacGyver hero that he had played for seven years. He described the premise of the movie and talked about preparing for the role, including working with a trainer to get into physical shape. He also mentioned the two MacGyver movies that he would be shooting in Europe next year.
