While in New York, Richard visited with Regis and Kathie Lee to promote the episode Good Knight MacGyver in which MacGyver's first name is finally revealed, and he explained how he had first come up with the suggestion for a name to fit the character. He also brought along his Team USA cap to promote the Olympic hockey team for which he has once again been named Honorary Captain. The seventh season may be the last for MacGyver, and Richard expressed his pride in the series and mentioned a TV movie that will be in his future. The interview was taped on November 4th and aired on the 11th to promote the second half of the two-part episode.
