Richard was among the guests from the world of science fiction who attended the Chevron 7.6 convention at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham, UK.

During the weekend, he addressed fans' questions in several panels, posed for photos, signed autographs, and auctioned off a number of items in support of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
