I'm really sad the ride is over. It was a real joy to read.

You've asked me if there's a part I thought it was special. Tough question and tough to choose. Well, I definitely liked the beginning part with his tour in the mountains and finding himself being caught in the thunderstorm. That was catchy. I couldn't chose among all the other parts as they all fit together and were all good. I think I mentioned before that I like especially during their growing romance that you left room for our own imagination. I don't like every situation to be described ;)

PS: For the quote part - I'm still on it but haven't watched any MacGyver episode's lately exept for the reruns (in German) each Saturday and Sunday at Nitro ;) I'll try skipping through some episodes after this post.
Well, what can I possibly say after such a VERY detailed feedback and praise - THANK YOU. Comments like this keep me going.

If you can imagine the story like a real episode in your head while reading, then I´ve reached a main goal of mine! Reading should feel like some 'lost episode'... that´s what I aimed for - with all three stories, and I think I´m getting quite close by now. But yes, it would have to be at least a two-parter ;)

As for Mac getting caught in the thunderstorm at the beginning - that was easy to write. I know that mountain, I got caught in a thunderstorm there as well, several years ago, during an 3D archery tournament. Fortunately, I didn´t nearly get hit by lightning, but I saw one hit the ground only a few hundred meters away. That was scary enough for me (I also ended up running down that mountain), but I figured Mac could go through something a little worse than me. ;) :?

As for leaving room for imagination - I figured, not everyone would be into reading 'adult' stuff... and it is hard to write, if it has to fit the characters real good (and mustn´t turn into smut) - so I left that part out. Although, with all the searching for and reading of MacGyver fanfiction I did over the past few years, I stumbled across several m-rated (adult) fanfics. And I have to admit, after being very suspicious and wary at the beginning, a few of them are a real pleasure to read. True to Mac´s character, beautifully written, not 'porny' at all. But as I said, very hard to do, so I shied away from it. Might give it a try - just for me personally, maybe, some time... I might get into that last evening Mac and Nikki spent at Widow Canyon, after Pete left... and write myself a more detailed version. Or the first morning after they returned home - and write the 'missing scene' explaining why they are late for their meeting with Pete... ;)

But for now I´m hunting for a new story idea to get into - possibly something right after Mac and Pete have met thanks to Murdoc, something to explain how or why Pete managed to persuade Mac to work regularly for the DXS, or maybe their first mission together - kind of explaining how/why they are so close friends... any ideas? Throw 'em at me!

Again, many, many thanks for your applause - that´s a big part of why I still keep doing this - going through all the hard work it takes to get a story like this ready for publishing on the net. Because I know, there´s many people out there who love the series, and enjoy reading the stories other fans come up with! :D :D :D

I have some ideas ...

i like the idea of a story about how mac and pete became close friends

possibly it was Pete who told macgyver about his mother and the stroke...

oh how about when macgyver and Jack met I know they met in high school but I'm curious how they became friends I know Jack saved macgyvers life when they went scuba diving but that was after high school...

last idea in the episode "split decision " macgyver is talking to earl dents daughter veronica after she ran away he tells her he ran away once when harry had told him to get lost he said harry was trying to protect him but never explains why... from what? ...that has always bugged me that they never went into detail about it ...

these are what I can think of at the moment I hope they help you bluegirl :D

According to a timeline I found on MacGyverOnline.com, MacGyver´s mother dies well before he and Pete meet for the first time (although I´m not quite sure where or when in the series it is mentioned, probably 'Runners', I´ll have to recheck that fact. So Pete telling him about the stroke is out of the question - since I´m trying to stay within canon.

Jack saving MacGyver´s life while scuba diving - I read a fanfic covering that part, but I´m not completely sure where I read it - I´ve got to search for it in my 'archives'...

Teenage Mac running away because Harry told him 'to get lost' - maybe later... right now I´m not too fascinated by writing about a teenage MacGyver, sorry ;)

So that leaves Mac and Pete getting closer to each other after the 'Murdoc incident' - maybe explain the 'other version' with the camel - getting into the recruiting process, probably Mac´s training for the DXS, a first assignment together... something like this. All happening in 1980... any further ideas for this one?

I was quickly browsing and this caught my eye. I wrote a chapter in The Journey Continues (#57 All That Glitters) with Mac scuba diving with/for Jack. Could that possibly have stuck in your mind? I didn't think it was that memorable!! LOL!!!

in the episode runners he explains to Jennifer that he was on assignment at the time his mother died 🤔hmm did he have any other kind of job before he met Pete were he would be on assignment? was he ever in the military? or am I thinking of Jack O'Neill

I remembered macgyver making some comment about a camel to Pete but I can't remember the full story

ooh some ideas for mac and Pete after the Murdoc incident mac would have to fix jacks apartment not to mention fixing or replacing his cab ..helping jack get back on his feet …
what was macs job at the time before he was helping jack keep his cab in business? it was never mentioned as far as I know :?
maybe mac convinced Pete to stop wearing the toupee hair ...
and when did Pete stop calling macgyver kid? when they met he called him kid so what made him stop?
oh when did Pete and his wife divorce? what I mean is was macgyver working with Pete at the time?
I hope these can help you with your story if I think of more I will add them ;)

Nope, sorry... I just reread that chapter and it wasn´t. There´s some story out there covering the scuba diving incident in Mac´s and Jack´s past. I didn´t save it, unfortunately. It´s not in my archive as well... I gotta search the net for it.

Finally... I found it. It´s called 'Three Musketeers in Martinique' by Lothithil, the beginning deals with the diving incident where Jack saves Mac´s life. Haven´t read the full story yet, though... available in the MacGyverOnline library.

Hi there!

I set myself a writing challenge... I wrote a little addition to this story... but I don´t dare to post it here...

It is dedicated to all those who might be interested in reading what I imagined to happen after the end of chapter 10. After Mac claims 'the might both be late...' for their appointment with Pete. You can find it (and only recently all my other works) on AO3 (archiveofourown.org) and probably soon also on fanfiction.net - my username on both sites is MacsBluegirl.

But I gotta warn you - all of you should be familiar with my 'descriptive' writing style! It is 'adult content'! But I tried my best not to let it get smutty or vulgar. 8-)
