~ Research Test Trials Tentatively Scheduled Next Month ~

I suppose it's appropriate in a timely manner to post the following:

Image

A prototype handheld crystalline based device in which energy is provided to a medical test subject (patient) to invigorate regenerative cellular energy.. should be (hopefully) ready for controlled test trials next month. This would not be public test trials, but in-house preliminary non-invasve testing on an intern who had already signed open-ended authorization waivers when they accepted their internship here..

There being more involved than, "does this setting give you a tingly feeling? How about this setting? Is this too far away? Is this too close? Does this setting give you more of the tingles or a burning sensation? Did you appropriately fill out the form concerning your life insurance beneficiary?"

In a cliff-note style summary, the prototype would perform a function to assist in the recovery of diminished cellular energy due to severe injury (in which the healing process is in a static state of shock) or illness related (in which the illness has already suppressed cellular regeneration). In theory, the device is a transducer in which the user becomes part of a binary closed loop system. In layman's terminology, think "Reiki therapy" -upgraded.

If controlled test trials meet with acceptable planned outcome, a military field trial using an MP as a viably fit test subject may come about before requesting authorization for public hospital supervised trials. Funfact: Amber was the first precious stone noted in human history, and has been used as a healing stone and protective amulet for at least 7000 years. The prop used on Stargate was our initial starting point model, but we have since moved on to a more functional design. Prop concept image is below:

~ Testing LaGrange Point Viability ~

Image

Lagrange Points are positions in space where the gravitational forces of a two-body system like the Sun and Earth produce enhanced regions of attraction and repulsion. These can be used by spacecraft as "parking spots" in space to remain in a fixed position with minimal fuel cost. Essentially a gravitational "null" zone.
......
Image

This evening, another department will be watching the launch of it's small cube-sat to test the hazards of the localized space environment on the cube construct which was created using crystalline material replicated from the copy we made of the earlier exotic shard sample. The parking orbit, would save on fuel cost and provide for the use of a $167 satellite camera which was listed on Amazon.com (see image below). Trying to keep project budget costs as low as possible by using ready-made OTC products, in conjunction with in-house shell fabrication.

Image

..One small step in the ongoing determination toward the viability of a functional Puddle Jumper. A small shield capability was included if the onboard artificial intelligence determined a radioactive breach in the hull was eminent. Cube-sat project estimated to last 3 months.
....

(updated next day)

You might be wondering how a crystal shell can protect sensitive interior instrumentation electronics from the hazards of space (solar wind, radiation, etc). This same question had stumped the research department tasked with protecting a small test satellite with only the crystal material which we have been testing. A plausible solution, which is currently being tested, is the use of a faraday cage but instead of metalic mesh film.. That department was to design a crystalline mesh structure onto the underside of the crystal plating which envelopes the satellite. Regular metallic faraday mesh images below.

Image
Ordinarily, a crystal does not conduct electricity. But when the crystal strontium titanate is heated under the right conditions, it is altered so light will make it conductive. The phenomenon, called “persistent photoconductivity,” also occurs at room temperature.
There are multiple examples in which other researchers have found that under certain conditions, a crystal can indeed display characteristics not normally associative of crystals. Another research finding is that although a crystal is a good conductor of heat (which wouldn't be a good thing as the small box-sat would then become an oven), there is a (recipe) that not only does it becomes a bad conductor of heat, but also the heat energy is converted into electricity.

With the durable crystal plate material (acting as thin armor plating for upcoming meteorite impacts -from meteor showers) encasing the satellite, and a faraday mesh on the interior satellite side of the plate material. Multiple avenues of research are simultaneously being pursued toward a common goal. The mini zpm was requested to be incorporated into the satellite to act as a power source as regular non-nuclear options wouldn't sustain a protective shield should it be required in case of a coronal mass ejection over the course of the 3 month field trial.
......
......

(Updated later in the week)

Been swamped with multitasking different responsibilities at work in conjunction with keeping tabs on the satellite test mission.

(*sighs*)

Turns out a Faraday Cage metal mesh fabric was used instead of designing a crystal mesh as intended originally. Turns out that even researchers have budgets along with fiscal timetables. So a metal mesh fabric was seen on eBay, and that's the direction the project went. Made for responsive time management, I was informed. At least I'm comforted with the knowledge that the ZPM mini would be more reliably protected with tried-and-true intellectual know-how.. -courtesy of eBay. :D

August 30th, Satellite Update

The satellite which was previously launched and maneuvered to the parking orbit of LaGrange Point 5 (lagging Earth's position), was encountering difficult solar storm activity and had activated it's onboard shield capability. The mini zpm was still maintaining operational status within accepted parameters, though the processing power of the small satellite was at it's limit in compensating power usage for shield instability. This was due to the tsunami "push" of the increased solar wind activity charged with plasma against the small yet concentrated power of the satellite shield while the satellite also struggled to maintain orbital station-keeping. Remotely, we were able to adapt the onboard a.i. subroutine responsible for the shield, to run through a frequency spectrum trying to find the right resonant frequency which would strengthen the shield in counter the plasma energy impact. From earlier research on sound resonant frequencies (iron shavings on a sheet of glass over a speaker which is connected to an RF signal generator) certain resonant frequencies create mosaic energy patterns, some resembling hexagonal cells.

Image

Am including an image from the Stargate series, concerning an Ori shield upgrade to a satellite. The surrounding shield stress lines resemble the hexagonal pattern of a soccer ball and would be quite stable in distributing impacts while maintaining form. It is this hexagonal "honeycomb" pattern that we are trying for, and programmed the shield emitter a.i. to use this resonant frequency when shield envelope starts to deform (as what happens when a solar storm impacts the Earth's magnetic field, distorting it). To preserve power, nonessential programs were put into "sleep" mode during shield usage. Resonant upgrade to shield harmonic showed a 10x general field strength variation toward minimizing charged impact distortion. The Faraday Cage being useful for lower to mid-range frequencies we expect the satellite to encounter, but negligible protection against high frequency sources. Research is still ongoing.

~ Update on the Medical Healing Device ~

Image

Despite our best efforts toward replication of this device design, once the actual device is manufactured/grown. The subcontractor responsible for proprietary components for the device, has not been forthcoming in our desire for more intellectual control of the overall prototype. Since we are at somewhat of an impasse.. Although the prototype printing lab is currently being retooled for implementing design realization on (which requires a Master's Degree in Engineering for component integration) and has already received budgeting toward.. Along with legal obligatory prior commitment from subcontractor to build.. Will most likely be the only version in existence. There are some proprietary energy generation associated with cellular regenerative vitality which is largely outside our skillset experience to materially conceptualize (as it touches on the relatively new field of quantum biology).. and thus our ability to replicate. Image is from an old file, circa 2002.

(*sigh*)

Why can't egocentric team members get along? And yes, Meredith.. I'm looking at you.

Image
..........
..........

(4 am-ish: Too early a morning update. Seriously it should be a no-no to wake up before your coffee does)

After an early morning brainstorming "duct tape" technical diplomacy session with the subcontractor on working as a team for the benefit of all mankind (we ARE a nonprofit here).. The future is brighter in that we may be able to replicate their unique intellectual innovation for multiple healing devices. The actual application of doing this.. may be problematic. But that's a bridge we will cross when we come to it.

(*sigh*)

In all seriousness, there were moments when I felt inside that there was no way this would even work.. like in poker if they had all the cards to spread a full suit, and I had only my single card to play while secretly & sincerely betting on good luck. Against all logic, I somehow.. won? But not going to look a dead horse in the mouth, or was that a gifted horse? I dunno.. too early to remember ancient idioms.

Now.. my coffee needs me, and I it.

(..some time later, days?)

Someone posted a thought exercise on the bulletin board to see if researchers here could come up with viable conceptualized content contributing to the realization of the thought project item in question:

Image

Programmable Replicator Blocks

Divergent from what was seen throughout the televised episodal franchise, initial thoughts are more.. mundane? Consider this, instead of being tied to a 3D Printer to "build/construct" something (being limited by enclosed space of the printer).. the same diagram is programmed into a replicator block to continue copying itself until sufficient block count reaches critical mass at which point all the blocks start construction of desired object. One of the researchers suggested dropping a replicator block onto an iron-rich asteroid that would provide raw material toward the construction of a small size Dyson (Sphere) Shell at least the size of a small moon If that asteroid were brought into a low gravity LaGrange Point, a hollow shell structure could easily remain in that "parked" orbit around the Sun without the trouble of an orbital trajectory versus inertial mass calculation.

Image

A hexagonal framework would be the 1st construction phase to provide a stable platform for the following paneled shell construction phase. The panels themselves would not be solid (deemed inefficient) but rather honeycombed so as to more efficiently distribute surface impact stresses along it's length (solid material would buckle & break) toward the hexagonal support structure.. loosely termed "rib cage".

Thoughts on shielding the livable interior from harmful cosmic radiation as well as solar storms have been sketchy this early into the exercise. Replicator Blocks could form a relatively thin interior shell layer made of lead,. Current use of lead is used in medical rooms to partially shield patients from high energy x-ray machine use. Another shielding option would be the attenuation nature of water. Water itself could form a shallow ocean (more accurately a shallow endless pond) along the interior surface in a hydroponic type farming arrangement for colonists. Water is known to shield against high-frequency Gamma Ray radiation. Which led at least one world government to build a fallout shelter underneath a large body of water.. as a recent report told. The exterior of the Dyson (sphere) shell would have a "skin covering" of a metallic cage known as a Faraday cage. This is known to block low frequency radiation such as amplitudal wavelength & energy surges such as lightning strikes. A high energy charged solar storms would pass along the outside without penetrating the shell. As an added protection, a selenomelanin coating would prevent penetration by X-ray radiation. Spacesuits for working along the exterior of the Dyson Sphere could employ this coating along with a Faraday "skin". The center of the hollow Dyson Sphere would have a Micro-Sun which could serve as a light & ambient heat source .. a high luminescent plasma reaction in a near vacuum.. Breathable air would remain near the revolving interior of the sphere as pressure drops to near vacuum as one approaches center..

Thought exercises like this help keep the mind flexible in thinking "outside the box" for innovative solutions. I don't expect applicable real world applications, but it's nice to dream of the possibilities. Though I wonder if a replicator block program could be created in a manner where it's simulation would be closer to an ant colony rather than a virus colony (as depicted in the show).

Size equivalent to be close (maybe?) to the sphere at Disney Epcot Center. That huge golf ball looking thing in the middle of their front lawn. This smaller sphere would be a test-bed to evaluate engineering challenges related toward the construction and long-term sustainable viability of a projected larger size to be soon added to the drawing board.

Exterior color decided to be Vantablack.

(texting in from bed now.. simple update)

Learned origin of thought exercise.. but cannot go into that at this juncture. The real purpose of texting from bed is to share that we're not the only ones being groomed on open bids for security clearance projects. Another research facility was brought into the thought exercise months ago, with wildly different conceptual approaches. Their now in phase 3.. operable prototyping. Our facility was tapped in order to counterpoint the risky innovations being implemented over there. Like in that psychological test in proving the fallibility of the human mind in being unable to process opposing stimuli. Two pans, one is 32*F cold water with ice cubes, the other is 105*F water. Sit down in front placing left hand in one pan and right hand in the other pan. Instead of the kind acknowledging both respective extremes in temperature.. the mind combines both and the person predominately senses only warm temperature water. So in effect, our exercise results would normalize theirs in improving project feasibility.

Besides, another thought exercise was put up.. "regenerative shielding".

(Texting from bed.. safer than texting & driving)

Been a long but not so productive day. For some unknown reason, people just don't want to be bothered about *work".. on a Sunday. Anyways I had an idea to addendum this months thought exercise. Regarding space bound constructs and a natural pull of gravity. I think there might be some fruitful results in testing a thin perforated plate of metal (thinking "lead" for starters) that would be negatively charged and afterwards to run the spectrum of frequencies throygh it. A negative mass should exhibit a natural pull of positively charged mass. And if gravity can be negated through certain vibrational frequency, as my historical research into backward engineering different conceptualized structures show. Then the reverse should likewise result in the phenomena of two bodies becoming strongly attracted to one another (but without alcohol -joke). Or better yet, like similar to a shaped explosive C-4 charge, the vibrating charged metal plate could have shaped depressions machine stamped into it which may create a cone shape "gravity well" force of attraction. Though the affected area of "gravitational influence may be quite limited.

Termed "Archaeocryptography", as in the study of decoding a monument or structure by determining the underlying mathematical order beneath the proportions, size, and placement to find any re-occurring or unusual data in respect to that which is being studied, or within another monument or structure. -reference "Stone Henge", etc).

A conceptualized "Dyson Sphere" construct the size of our moon, would effectively incur a very low (ie:. negligible) gravity well due to it's mass being hollow (and therefore lightweight). Even with an interior shielding layer of lead approximately 12 feet thick (half that at the door), there is still no attraction.. no sense of gravity. So since increasing mass isn't a viable option, we must look toward other means such as charge and frequency. If a charged plate exhibits an optimum gravitational pull aling a small range of frequencies. Then the potential of this discovery could be utilized in space travel. Creating artificial gravity (to some degree) so astronauts wouldn't suffer from bone deterioration and prolonged physiological effects of living/working in a zero-G environment.

~ Artificial Gravity.. A Success ~
(A crude result given in layman's terms)

Image

Since I'm not a licensed electrician and am not permitted to handle expensive laboratory equipment anymore.. since that whole exploding burrito fiasco when I was an intern. My insights must be handled with hazmat care from another laboratory technician. So here are the results of my idea:

On a perforated undeformed (depressed shape stamped from a metal press) metal sheet which is connected to negative polarity and a frequency generator. At a range of frequencies which lay between 10%-20% that of the vibrational frequency of sunlight. And an amplitude of negative polarity which is not too high nor too low. An attractive force approximately 10% that of Earth Standard Gravity was created. For the purpose of this fanfic endeavor, details on this discovery will remain vague. What will come as a surprise and still fit under the "Eli Initiative" umbrella.. is that this technological achievement will be forwarded through a protected military channel. Then be implemented on the projected moon size Dyson Sphere in order to "turn on the gravity" of the interior layer.

Image

The trade-off of not being directly involved in installing that project's upgrade, is an otherwise quite rewarding consolation in it's own right.. We get first crack at designing an interior "Sun" that would illuminate the interior but with minimal heat. This being that once the interior temperature gets up to comfort level, very little additional heat would be required to sustain it. Okay.. already I'm picturing our team -wrenches in hand and popping the hood of a tiny sphere construct that would essentially be a bright nightlight. My initial thought, use the mini "hedgehog" ZPM inside a small sphere to power a Tesla coil. Encapsulated (neon) hydrogen noble gas globules attached along the exterior of the sphere would become ignited 8nto plasma from close proximity to the Tesla Coil. In the center of the Dyson Sphere would be a small area of negligible gravity at near vacuum. The ambient warmth would come from the Sun's radiant thermal energy on the exterior of the Dyson Sphere. The sphere would maintain station-keeping position through small ionized propulsion thrusters.

If our design is approved, we will end up losing the mini ZPM to power the "Sun". One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. It would be inline with increasing farming productivity to keep the artificial Sun on continuous until Friday evening when it should automatically lower intensity as if in sunset. Followed by a full shutdown lasting until Saturday evening for scheduled checks and parts replacement. During the "rest day" blackout, village streetlights would come on which would appear like stars overhead from the opposite side of the Dyson Sphere Interior. I guess once the gravity is turned on, they will start transporting dirt/ rocks/ trees/ deer/ birds and fish? Should end up being a nice pleasant place to one day retire to, I would think. Elderly folks may do better getting around in a lower gravity environment while contributing their knowledge & insight into intellectual research projects.

(*sad sigh*)

But I cannot rest on this laurel, because it's my dream to design/build a puddle jumper. And gravity plating of 1/10 Earth Standard isn't good enough. I have to do better.

Concerning an operational design flaw: The gate (door) was said to have not been fully shielded along it's edge from cosmic radiation seeping through until they modified the programming of (their version of) the replicator blocks to apply lead shielding along the cutout rim surrounding the gate. Patience, in my experience, has done more to prevent accumulated problems than all the safety oversight combined.

~ Well.. That Happened ~
...........................................(*smirk*)...........................................

(Sitting on the small couch in the kitchen and mentally still digesting a near trainwreck of a day. Then to come home.. and spontaneously walk into a deep wood following the sound of distant footsteps on crisp dry leaves. Only to find a long abandoned blue duffle bag and baseball cap hidden beneath a low branched tree with a clear view of the covered side porch to my little cabin in the woods. You know.. sometimes you just wish for the security of wandering mobsters like in all those "cabin in the woods" movies to scare away creepy surveillance people.. but I digress.)

Having to work on a new way of upgrading shielding capability of the Dyson Sphere Exterior Shell.. by taking it "Old School". News came to me through an undisclosed source inside the Dyson Sphere construct, that energy was still (somehow) entering through every (replicator embodied) protective layer which was designed to prevent it. In preparing myself to review the context of this delima, I took off my shoes, leaned back and just let my mind wander. Why not.. umm.. no, that could never work. The idea is (I think?) unprecedented (if you don't count that one episode in Star Trek Voyager when ensign Harry Kim created anti-borg armor plating by using energy) of.. well, here was the process in how I arrived at this "thinking outside the box" innovation Energy was getting through all the physical safeguards. The shield was then activated and no energy bleed through was detected. Technical staff can't rely on the shield long-term because it's such a huge power drain.

"What to do..?" -they must have thought amongst themselves. "Why not outsource this problem to that intern from that other lab. You know, the girl who blew up a burrito trying to use a particle accelerator to heat it up." -Another probably added. As I said, my infamous intern reputation forever precedes me. So here I am, for want of a bag of pretzels trying to solve the mysteries of the universe. Sounds impossible to most folks.. but for me it was just another Tuesday at the office (even though it's technically Wednesday, and I was home). After some back and forth, thinking out loud to myself. The solution became quite elementary.. Program the replicators to analyse the energy shield "weave" structure and try to duplicate it within themselves. The upgrade update would then ripple outward throughout the entire outer shell. Think of it as a physical manifestation of an energy shield which doesn't require power (I think) to effectively block all energy from passing through.

Image

A physical "shield", as it were. So after passing this idea through secure channels to eventually reach those technicians. I can call it a day and go to bed with my bag of pretzels. Am sure by now some contractor is delivering the first shipment of landscape material. If they had a Stargate, they could borrow a page from the Ashen who tilted the gate horizontally and poured raw material through it.

Looking at all the life threatening engineering headaches in which every day is potentially a nightmare. Makes one long for the sense that (somehow) Mother Nature will look after all the details so we can just relax and unwind. I know, ai know.. the Earth's climate is barely holding together and we will all become extinct sooner or later. That's why this Dyson project has been receiving much more attention as of late. Humans may need another option close by if our home bevomes too toxic a place to live.

An update on the Dyson Sphere project. The Replicators were indeed able to copy the weave energy into themselves, but only partially.

There was still bleed through of cosmic radiation coming in from outside the Epcot size Dyson Sphere. We're going to need to reclaim the mini ZPM and replace it with the actual size. Any improvements from trial and error would be relayed to the engineering architects designing areas for the moon size version.
