Thank you sooooo much for posting it! I was able to see it! Talk about cool! If you didn't remember that you were watching a "car commercial" - one would think that they were "doing a Mac Movie"! It's great! _________________ "The past is history - tomorrow is a mystery - today is a gift... which is why they call it the present!"

This is a very cool commercial. In German language it's not as good as the original. There is something about Rick's own voice, what cannot be translated.
"Shut it down, now!" reminds of Jack and his last sentence: "This is déjà vu all over again. " Cool. I almost got goosebumps when I heard him saying this. _________________

Completely agree with you.
The commercial is very entertaining and the best part is that there will be 3 webisodes. _________________

I find it hard to focus on what it is they're advertising. The story itself and the way its shot is just too cool...

I see, I was a little late, when I posted the link in the MacGyver-thread
Doesn't he look incredible? _________________

The ugly car itself is not worth such a cool commercial, isn't it? Well, maybe the responsible people of Mercedes thought that they have to come up with something really cool, to be able to sell it. _________________

Wow!
Looking good!
There is a neat MacGyverism - He uses an air-filled garbage bag as a gas mask!
But continuity errors! LA skyline, photo ID that says he lives in Sacremento, an Americxan style phone number on the back of the van, but a European style license plate.
And the badly manipulated pics on the poster of him in the leather jacket (and darker hair ) may be from the shoot in Los Angeles he tweeted about a couple of months ago.
But I can't wait to see the all of it. Kate, that nastolgia thread couldn't have come at a better time!

I think it's more of an industrial purpose car rather than every day family life car. Hence all the stuff he's hauling around for his "mission"...
Here's what info I got on this so far:
Shot in S. Africa in July 2012 for a European release of the car and the ad. The 3 episode web-series will premier on Sept 18th. The Mercedes-Benz Citan will be released during the IAA car show in Hanover, Germany in between 20th and 27th of September 2012.

Wow, thanks for finding this, it looks awesome! Wish it was the trailer for the new MacGyver movie, though. But seems we will get quite a lot with this.
Wonder why they needed to go to South Africa for filming though? I haven't seen any lions or giraffes yet?
But seriously, this looks pretty darn cool. The German version even has his old MacGyver voice! _________________ Funny pictures with Stargate actionfigures at http://dieastra.livejournal.com
