What do you guys think RDA should do next (besides the third SG-1 movie)? Should he reprise MacGyver, do a new TV series, or all of the above? _________________ Waitress: "Help 'ya, handsome?"

Oh, this i like... Lessee...
If he does MacGyver (that movie) I'd like him to be authentic, a Mac that has aged and is proud of it. I'd really love to see RDA in this Mac movie if it's a well thought out script and a story written around him.
Other than that I would like him to do something that challanges his acting skills, be it a series or a movie. I'd like him to see as the lead star not as a supporting role or a slapstick cameo guy. I'd like to see drama but humor too and maybe a bit of romance. A Western would be cool, actually. I'm not so much into Thriller, crime or Sci-Fi (if it's not ST or SG or Lois and Clark). So yeah, that'd be cool. Maybe him playing a dad would be great, too. he's grat with kids. Or something with animals. _________________

I agree with you Anne that it could be a superb movie if RDA came back as an older Macgyver with all the skills he had before but with the extra years of experience too. I hope that if they do a movie that is the way it goes or I am not that interested as RDA IS Macgyver and no one else would be credible to me in that role. Of course, Rick may not want to do it and so we have to accept that and move on but I will always love and respect Mac and watch my epis with great joy - never get tired of them!!

I'd like to see him do something a bit more edgy & dark, or at least a more complicated character that'd give him a chance to really shine. I was hoping they'd get him for CSI when William Peterson was going to leave, but that didn't happen. I think that would have been a great spot; dramatic, but he could still be quirky.
The nice thing is that studios are starting to realize that while having these twenty-somethings on shows is great for the teen demographics (ugh!!! Stargate Babies!!!), the older actors draw a far wider audience. They're starting to plug in older (over 40) actors in roles in established shows... Jeff Goldblum comes to mind. It's all about ratings.
But if our favorite fella just wants to relax and enjoy life, then more power to him. James Spader said it best when he told a reporter that he just works when he needs money to keep doing what he wants! I had to smile at that...

Oh yes Kat I could see Rick in CSI and what a great idea if he could have taken that part when William Peterson left. He would be terrific in a really dramatic, dark role where he could use his inate intelligence , quirky humour and his powerful 'presence'. He may not want another job, who knows, but I would be so thrilled to see him in that kind of a role. Dream on eh? Looking forward to the third SG1 movie anyway. Cheers

Edgy and dark is cool, too (though I'm def not a fan of crime shows so no CSI for me... lol). Would love to see him as a mysterious guy maybe, someone where you wonder about his agenda but who turns out not to be a baddie. Would also like to see him play a gay guy (we talked about this, remember? ) but that's certainly not gonna happen and I understand. Still would like to see him do that, especially because he's not one of the young pretty boys anymore. So, a guy who comes out of the closet very late in life maybe. That would be cool - even though as I said, it's not something I can see him do for real and that's okay
What I don't like to see are movies about dying/eternal ill persons because I have enough of that in real life and it's just not something I want to watch on TV. Same with war movies. Not my thing.
But yeah, if he decides to retire for good after the new SG movie, so be it. I'm cool with that too. He has every right to just stay home with his kid and relax _________________

Rick in NCSI would be nice.
Or him doing a series with his own team like criminal minds or so and have very special team to solve a crime.
But whatever he will do in the future everything's fine

I think Rick should go for a comedy. As funny as he is it would be an easy undertaking for him. He wouldn't have to put forth much effort. He is very talented and extremely funny. _________________

Any roll is fine with me as long as he is having fun with it. He deserve having fun whatever he does. Even if he doesn't want to commit on anything just appearances; that is fine with me too, but I do miss seeing him. _________________ Sairalindë

I miss seeing him too.
I would love to know from himself what he would love to do now.
I do not think he would love to make longtime tv series anymore though, more one or 5 times in a series or so.
Maby a mini series that would be great. _________________

I quite agree! A mini series would be great. Well, let's face it, any glimpse of him would be great!
