Because the situation with spammers has gotten so out of hand, I have found it much easier to simply block most of the commonly used email domains from registering.

BUT - Real people are still welcome to register! Smile

If you try to sign up and get an error message saying that your email is not permitted, just send me an email and tell me the Username and Email address that you would like to use. I'll register you manually, and you can go back in later and fill in the rest of your profile.

If anyone is interested...................I.T is my thing but I'm guessing the following is what Kate means:

An email domain is what we call in the "trade" the second half of an email address (the first half being the chosen word(s) before the @ & the second half being the word(s) after the @ & ending in .com, .net, .co.uk, .org etc). This means that Kate has probably had to block the commonly used ones, i,e Hotmail.com, Yahoo.com, gmail.com etc, so if any newbies try to register with an email with one of these endings, they may well have trouble.

Anyhoo, hope this makes sense Exclamation

P.S The only thing with this is spammers usually have a particular email but the actual email address shown is something completely different (usually stolen from someone who uses their email normally & has had their PC hacked) but I won't confuse you further explaining all that (usually involves going into message headers & stripping down the HTML or tracking down the IP address but now I'm definitely talking Ancient!!) Confused
