I had a long walk with Lady Maya this morning.
Icy, sunny day! We left home and returned before sunrise. No clouds in the sky, thank god, and no rain. I love these sunny and cold days, dislike the rainy, grey and warm days with muddy paths and wet dog.

Last night at 01:00 I woke up by the snoring of my hubby. So I get up and Fritzi (my cat) takes that for a good time for a midnight snack Wink
Afterwards he wanted to go outside and I found an almost clear sky. So I got dressed and build up one of my telescopes.
It was almost full moon and there is no time to see less, no contrast at all on the moon.
But it was the first clear night for weeks and I enjoyed it even though. Only a few degrees west of the moon was Jupiter and this planet was wonderful to see.
Only marginal air motion so it didn't flitter at all.
Wonderfull sight! Very Happy

When I got back to bed, I was very happy that I took advantage of the clear night Very Happy

No, he does so almost every night Confused
But usually I move into the spare room without looking at the sky. Maybe I should thank my cat? Wink

I'm just writing a review of an astronomy book for a large german astronomy forum, but I need much time of thinking, the screensaver kicks in and that really got me distracted from my work!

Sure you can imagine what it's made of?
Many, many pics of Rick - from MacGyver and Stargate as well.

It should be forbidden to look as attractive and handsome as he does Very Happy

Thank god, I don't have the screensaver at work Wink

I love the voice of Doris Day and look just a video with the song "Happy Endings". Beautifully sung by Terry Melcher.
Doris Day says very touching words about her son Terry.
And I've looked at pictures on the internet, because I wanted to know what he looked like.

This woman is incredible. The voice at the same time powerful and painful, when she talks about her child.

And her great love of animals is exemplary.
Rightly a world star.

Here's the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yuqlWtObJs

Im writing a term paper specialized in health care policy.

The subject is very topical in Germany: does it make sense to replace therapy with medical devices (exampel: manual lymphatic drainage versus so-called Lymphomaten). Weve found plenty of misuse related to the referral of the medicans and the final bill for the PT office the health fund has to pay after a completed therapy.

As most of the old timers on here know, I've been through a lot this past year with my husband. He was declared incompetent (schizophrenia and dementia) and I had to become his legal guardian. This past year has been filled with a lot of frustration. I found bank accounts and stock holdings he had kept from me for over 35 years.

I went to see him this past Wednesday and he seemed really good. He was acting like the man I fell in love with. My nephew and I were planning on going down to Missouri Friday to see my daughter ride in her first horse show at college. Around 5:30 am Friday, the nursing home called me and said that Ted had a change in status and they had to put him on oxygen. I asked how bad he was and the nurse told me she would have one of the people from hospice care call me. I hadn't heard from them by 7:30 so we headed out on our trip. The home had my cell number, but unfortunately I forgot I had it on vibrate. We were about 90 miles from home when I noticed that I had 3 missed calls. Two were from my daughter Jen and one from the home.

When I called back, the hospice lady said that Ted had trouble breathing and his blood pressure was very low. When I asked her if I should turn around and come back to the home, she said it was up to me. That was followed by her asking me if I had any arrangements made in the event of his passing. It felt like someone punched me in the stomach.

I called my daughter and she drove 6 hours to come home. When we got to the nursing home Saturday, Ted wasn't responding to anything or anyone. We went back Sunday morning and his condition had worsen. It took Jen over a half hour before she was able to go into the room. The memories of being with my sister when she died last October came flooding back. We left around 12:30 with plans to return later that night. We arrived back at our house around 1:30. 15 minutes later, we received a phone call from the home to tell us Ted had just passed - less than 84 hours after I left Wednesday night, happily thinking things were finally going in our favor.

I have to admit that throughout much of this ordeal, I felt very bitter towards my husband. Looking back now, I've realized that most of his actions were the result of the schizophrenia. I can only imagine the demons he was fighting in his mind. At least now, he can sleep in peace.

Pam

Pam, I'm very sorry to hear that.
Please, remember only the good times you had together.
I know, it will be difficult, but time will change the memories
and hopefully only the good ones will be left.
I'm thinking of you.
