Hmmm, wasn't too impressed with Friday's episode. We did the freezing to death thing again, yay, and there was that alien on the ship... and we still rather shoot first than try to find better solutions - and then get all upset when it attacks us. Not one of my favorite eps. But not every episode can be great, so that's okay Very Happy

Like parts of it (yay Jack), don't like parts.

The "don't like" part is that &%$#! constantly-moving camera! Someone grab that thing and hold it still, K?

It makes me not want to watch for very long.

For some reason, I just can't get into this series, even if our beloved Rick/O'Neill is in a few episodes. Still, if anyone has any screen caps of him they would like to share, I would love to see them. Very Happy

I'm likin' RDA's performance in SGU - he actually had seveal scenes last night.

But what I'm not liking is that our beloved Jack is having to be 'the bad guy' - as in, for dramatic effect, he has to disagree with what Col. Young does.

Just as Jack was "Always Right" when he was in command of SG-1, Young has to be right for the sake of this show. I'm just not used to seeing Jack be wrong, in that context.

Another thing - the early seasons of Atlantis (and DeepSpace 9 over in Trek World) ran concurrently with the original - so when there was a crossover of characters, you weren't left wondering what original folks were still up to.

Here, when I saw jack, I found myself wondering what SG-1 is doing - we know Sam is having Many Adventures on the Hammond, but are Daniel, Teal'c, Cam and Vala still a team going through the wormhole, or have they seperated for other things?

But any day with new RDA on the tube is a good one Very Happy

Daniel's apparently making home videos...oh...I mean Instructional SGC Videos! (I suspect Jack had something to do with this)

...and having waaaay too much fun.

What's he holding in his left hand? An apple? A lemon?

I like the last one best - it's pure Rick. Laughing Laughing

Just finished watching the 7th episode of Stargate 90210 Wink ..., I mean Universe and finally figured out what it is. It's a soap opera in space. It's been many years since I've watched one, but I still recognize the ingredients. Lots of drama, hysterics, conflicts, sex, good looking women, etc. I'm kind of waiting for someone to blurt "I'm pregnant".
So here is what I feel: as part of the Stargate franchise, man, it sucks. Big time. I always associated Stargate with fun, excitement, great visuals, cool sci-fi stuff, a bit of morality lesson here and there, kind of like the Star Trek series. As a soap opera in space the show is pretty interesting, you do get caught up in the events, you want to know what happens to the characters, despite that you want to slap people every once in a while. So my grievance is that it's called Stargate, and people get a rude awakening when they watch it expecting it to look and feel like Stargate. It's like you go to see Pavarotti singing Othello, and instead he starts belting out "Born in the USA". Quite jarring.
So I think I'll be keeping an eye on this one, especially since Jack might pop up once in a while. Richard actually reminded me a bit of Jack O'Neill in this last episode, and I'm hoping that the more he plays him again the more he'll get his timing and his Jack-feel back. I'd like to see him fully back into the character before he does SG1 #3 - if that one ever gets made that is.
It was really nice seeing him again, I miss him. I guess we all do. Smile
