Yes Spirit, I've seen alot of these on YouTube.

Have you seen this? This has to be my all-time FAVORITE Very Happy, and in fact, I DO have it in my Bookmarks. So good...! Very Happy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v9sCo7xZK0

If you find more, please feel welcomed to post them here... but unfortunately I can't place them in the front of this post because they are not really bloopers that were aired on the shows, but are of just the cast fooling around. Yes, they did make mistakes, alot of them... and they are WELL-known for their antics on and off the screen.

But just for that reason, that is why most of these scenes don't make it to the actual programs... they are 'edited' out.

I do, however, need to clarify this whole post, NOT just for you, but for everyone...! and I do hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings...!!!

I'd been thinking about this for some time, especially since I'd been given 'hints' to use another person's work. I think it's unfair of me to do that. It's their work, not mine.

My reasoning is that I am trying to give credit to those who actually find the 'bloopers' on their own... without going to outside (or inside) sources. Don't get me wrong, if you find a blooper somewhere else online or even in here, then that is FINE. But, you would STILL need to give me a ballpark time and place where the blooper is in the actual program itself, that was aired as an SG-1 or SG: Atlantis episode... and then I can give YOU the credit as having 'found' it.

The way I'm seeing it, is that every single RDA member in the front of this post found their own bloopers, and so they got credit for it in this post, here.

That is their 'reward'... their 'pat on the back'.

Some have made mistakes when the blooper they found didn't pan out... but that's okay, we ALL make mistakes. But when that happens, I always contact them privately to figure out what we will do. And I have to proudly say that every single one of them has been totally gracious about it, cooperative and very sweet.

~

I didn't PM you here in this instance, because I know you didn't realize what I meant by a 'blooper', and because others in here should know about this too... but that I guess there is sort of a 'rule' here. And I don't mean to make it sound LIKE a rule, but for me it must be FAIR TO ALL, because it IS a sort of game... and our people ARE getting full credit for their observations, which indeed... can be very tricky.

And the 'rule' is as has been being done, and as I said above. People should be finding their own bloopers in the program, whether it be on TV, Video, DVD, or episodes that you can access on the computer... but specifically, they should find the blooper in the actual SG episodes. They can have help from others, but I would hope that if they want the credit for it, then they can provide the 'blooper' event... hopefully the 'time' of the event, although if they can't give the exact time, I am perfectly willing to help.

When I started this post I was given help with a couple of the bloopers, and I was very careful to give credit where credit was due... It's only fair.

~

But yes, Spirit... PLEASE do post here the links if you'd like. They are very funny... I appreciate it, and I also appreciated the opportunity to post my own favorite link. Wink

PS... I like your 'handle', Spirit. Any particular kind?

This took some time, but I finally managed to do it Laughing

OK, here we go – here are the time codes for the „Hathor“ Episode:

Time Code 14:25: Hathor breathes on Teal'c (after she had already drugged the other guys).

Time Code: 24:24: Teal'c approaches Sam and explains to her that he is not effected by whatever drug Hathor uses, because his symbiote protects him. Hathor, being a Goa'uld, should have known that!

Tine Code: 27:03: Sam mentions Jack's Special Forces training to fight mind control, that might explain why it seems that Jack – though being drugged – still approaches Hathor with caution. Maybe the drug wears off on him faster than on the others? Hathor had to re-drug him to gain more control over him, so she was able to create the pouch in his belly. (BTW – didn't the fake belly look really fake? Laughing ) Obviously the drug seems to wear off after a while, depending on how strong the drugged person's mind is (in Jack's case, a very strong one).

Time Code: 35:47: Jack emerges from the sarcophagus, that obviously not only healed his physical wounds, but also stopped the effect of Hathor's drugs and cleared his mind again. Obviously he felt like he had blacked out (the other guys as well, later on).

Time Code 38:38: Sam shoots Hathor while she's sitting in the bathtub, flames burst out and cover the tub. While the guys are trying to extinct the fire, the gate alarm goes off (Time Code 39:10) and Hathor stands in front of the gate, she had already dialed out. How did she get there so fast (weren't there any - female(?) - guards outside the room??) and how did she manage to dial out in less than 30 seconds?

I think I can help with your definition...

What you are doing has been called "nitpicking" by our Trekkie friends, where something in the show is inconsistent or just plain not right...think of say, Jack saying he's going to level 28; he steps out of the elevator, and it says Level 17.

"Bloopers" is usually when someone blows a line or scene; still a mistake, but more like when AT says "&^%$#!!" instead of "Look! There's Teal'c!", and everyone laughs.

So what you are looking for are mistakes that were not spotted, thus earning your crew the most coveted title of Nitpicker. I am a card-carrying one from old TNG days: Phil Farrand, who wrote the first book, "The Nitpicker's Guide for Next Generation Trekkers", actually encouraged readers to try to spot ones he missed. If you did, you got a little card. ^_^

Well, it's 2:07am here, so I may not look for the card until tomorrow. I can picture it...

Yeah, mine's the TNG version, and he had an updated one too, which included to the end of the series. I think mine only goes to 6th season.

Sweet dreams! Let's hope there's joy. We like joy, with almonds!
*wink*

Padfoot...!!! Very Happy I am so pleased with you, all that work! And you did such a nice job of it, too…! And so now, it is up to me to correlate our efforts and place them in the front of this post.

(((Thank you Kat and Anne, for a fine job of 'nitpicking'. I think I may have one somewhere in my Star Trek collection, although I haven't read it yet. I'm saving it for my 'old age', LOL Very Happy )))

Do please check later... it might take awhile. But in the meantime, here are my findings. If you have any comments to make, please do so. I won’t be able to add it to the front until later tonight. Too much to do right now. Wink

So… and in the meantime... here is my work on Seth. And incidentally, I thought it was interesting that Hathor was mentioned right at the beginning @0:48 when Carter’s dad, Jacob, says “Kickin’ some major Hathor behind.” >LOL

~

At 17:31, according to Jacob, the ‘compound’ that Seth is using “is probably Nishta, a biological compound that, once inhaled, infects all tissue in your body, including your brain. It tends to make your mind extremely pliable.” When next Jackson says “That’s like what Hathor used.”, Jacob said “It’s stronger. It’s more encompassing. (Which leads me to ask “WHY and HOW would a ‘system lord’ have something ‘stronger’ than a Goa’uld Queen?… but that’s another story).

Then Teal’c says “I believe that is the substance Apophis used on Ry’ac.”

At 23:16 Jacob says how the ‘organism’ won’t work on himself or Teal’c, (implying that they could help ‘storm’ the cult), but Sam was right there talking about the fact that Seth would ‘sense’ the Goa’uld in Teal’c or Jacob from 50 feet away, so they are left out of the plans to ‘go in’. Which again, why didn’t anyone, including Sam, mention the possibility of Seth ‘sensing’ the Goa’uld protein marker left by Jolinar in Sam?… for which this thought is valid because later Seth DOES find it out… but only after–the-fact of Sam getting zapped with the organism…(and really, when Sam, Jack and Daniel get ringed into the room with Seth at 26:56, Sam was well within that space near Seth, being only about 8-10 feet from him.)

Which also brings me to this… Carter was sitting at Seth’s feet at 30:37, and at 31.43 Seth FINALLY notices her, and senses that she had been ‘blended’ . I just wondered how Seth was NOT able to ‘sense’ this in Carter earlier…?

(And incidentally, at 27:35, the ‘substance’ that Seth used on the team was green... and maybe I just answered my own question. The System Lords Seth and Apophis might have had the stronger 'stuff' than Hathor because hers was in her body, where she breathed it on her victims... whereas Seth (and Apophis?) had it 'man-made' because the stuff Seth used came out of those 'staff-heads'... not his body)

(And on Hathor, at 27:35, the ‘substance’ that Hathor breathed on Daniel at 6:23 was pink. AND… did anyone besides me notice that Hathor uses fake nails? I know, trivial, but still.)

Also, when Hathor was at the gate room about to leave… Did you see the beautiful clothes, perfect make-up, and by that time the sarcophagus had been destroyed. (???)

And a wig as well!

I didn't wonder about that because earlier on (at 32:30), when she had just created her first new Goa'uld lavaes, she was totally submergend in the whirling water, and when she emerged from the tub, she dried while she was emerging. You can see that because her wet hair shows up first, and as soon as she raises her head and stands up, she dries completely - make-up included. Laughing Laughing A rather small effect (in fact, I needed to re-watch because I didn't believe it the first time), but nicely done.

In "Out of Mind" Hathor herself refers to it not as a drug, but rather as an "organism" (at 38:52). So maybe it was a natural part of her own organism, while the Nish'ta is more of a custom-made drug. Also, as we know, Hathor concentrated on men (her wanting to be adored, admired and "loved" might play a part here), while Seth (and I guess it's safe to assume the other System Lords as well) "just" wanted power to control men and women alike.

Maybe she was not close enough earlier on? I don't know exactly at what range one can sense the presence of the Goa'uld/Naqadah. When Jolinar blended with Samn, Cassie senses it when she hugs her- and in "1969" Sam recognizes the old Cassie when she hugged her. So maybe one has to be really close to the other to sense the symbiote (I also remembering in Season 7, when Teal'c fights with Ishta, it is only when they get really close that she senses the absence of his symbiote). But it also may be that Seth was just to preoccupied, "sunbathing" in all his glory as a "god".

I've gotten to Season 2 + 3 now, catching up! Laughing

Hi Padfoot...

I am not a movie maker, but I think I know how they did that 'special effect' with Hathor getting out of the tub. They simply reverse the footage of her getting in!

I still thought like you, that it was so cool...! Very Happy

And yes, I agree with you about Hathor's 'organism' versus the 'custom-made drug'. Also, Hathor, as a Queen, may not have been ABLE to use her 'abilities' on women. After all, her purpose is to mate.

As for being close enough? I did include how Sam could 'sense' the Goa'uld in Teal'c or Jacob from 50 feet away. So when they ringed in, they HAD to be only about 10 feet away... and then there is Sam at his feet... which I had to ask, if Seth was so sensitive to symbiotes, then WHY did Sam risk the mission? She was quick to warn Teal'c and Jacob/Selmak off. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, I have alot to do today... so I will get to this ASAP. Very Happy

Hm... yes, that doesn't really make sense, you're right. We didn't miss anything here, did we? If she had taken some drug to prevent her symbiote from being sensed (like Kianna does, for example - Season 7), Jacob and Teal'c could have done the same. Sounds like a real blooper.

I agree - it's simple, but effective! And looks damn cool! Laughing Laughing

Edit:

Quote:
I noticed that Teal'c was MUCH closer to the 'priest/Goa'uld' than Carter... but it was Carter who told Jack that the Goa'uld jumped into the priest.

Teal'c is MUCH more experienced than Carter with Goa'ulds... why didn't HE sense that Goa'uld, first...? Hmmm?

I have just watched this very episode (Demons), and it comes to my mind that maybe you can't sense a symbiote until it has fully blended with its host. Perhaps that was what happened - Sam sensed it the moment (or a few moments after) the symbiote had fully blended with its host.
This might also be an explanation for why Teal'c didn't sense that Kawalsky (The Enemy within) was being taken over by a Goa'uld right away. His symbiote was not yet fully mature, and it took some time for him to blend with Kawalsky and take complete control.

I spotted a "blooper" - as I learned it's not really the right word - nitpicking is the right one, but anyway, I found something out.

Today I watched the episode "Singularity" and was really surprised that Jack didn't wear the hazmat suit when he opened the roof of the building in which the telescope stood. He wore it when they arrived the second time on the planet, and he wore it when they had to leave it because of the attack of the Goa'uld.

Wasn't he afraid to get sick when he opened the roof? Or maybe it was not dangerous because Dr. Fraiser said, that the bacteria doesn't spread out through the air.
