Hehe, and then he was relieved that he can go.
Or there was this heavy sigh, because he HAS TO go. _________________

I leave the interpretaion of his words up to y'all, but for the non-Americans, a quick lesson in the US election process.
The two major political parties spend several months having primaries in every state, and the members vote for their choice of several candidates running for president.
Based on how many votes a candidate gets, he's assigned a certain number of delagates for that state (based on population). So, all the delagates get together for a convention, each state announces which candidates get their votes, and the one who gets the most, officially becomes the candidate.
Currently the Republicans are having their convention, and last night Paul Ryan, who is their vice-presidential candidate, gave his speech on national TV. Tonight the presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, will give his speech.
So don't be surprised if there's another tweet
The Democrats will have their convention next week, where Obama will be officially announced as their candidate.

...His iPhone may not be working for long. Sounds like he's about ready to throw it at a wall.
Politics in The States can be infuriating. I'd been working as a political volunteer since I was old enough to sit on a desk to fold pamphlets & stuff envelopes for California Congressman Lionel Van Deerlin's first campaign. Democrats especially get very emotional about issues and candidates. I remember being 11 years old, and going door-to-door to hand out Voter Registration forms, trying to convince people 3 times my age that a democracy only works if we all participate. Being true Democrats, we handed out pamphlets that had both sides of local & national issues, so people could make their own choices free of coercion.
If you really are a fan of RDA, no matter what country you're in, do him (and us all) a favor: educate yourselves on politics and issues. Don't take the media's word for it. Research, then get out there and make your voice heard. Encourage others to do the same. Apathy is the true enemy. Don't let a handful of people decide your future.

That is so true! Hopefully many people live that way!
And I'm ashamed to read that some of Ryan's relatives come from Germany _________________

I know Kate doesn't like us to project motives onto RDA's tweets, but I can picture him watching political stuff, talking back to the TV as he's getting more and more irked, then getting so riled up he just has to gripe to somebody, sees his phone and thinks "Oh yeah, Twitter!" LOL

I agree with you Kat, voter apathy is a big problem in this country. It's shameful that people in some foreign countries risk their lives to vote while here in the US many people find excuses on why they didn't vote. The best one is that "my vote won't count". Truth is, the only time your vote won't count is if you DON'T vote.
I just hope RDA doesn't blow a gasket before this election is over. _________________

RDA talked about his last two tweets during the DragonCon panel
9m Ray Radlein @Radlein
Back from Richard Dean Anderson's panel. I may have been the only person in there beside him who was aware of last night's #eastwooding
2:41 PM - 31 Aug 12
Paul Gadzikowski @AKOTAS
@Radlein Why? Did RDA do the panel with an empty chair that he pretended was Baal?
2:43 PM - 31 Aug 12
Ray Radlein @Radlein
@AKOTAS Hah! No, he was talking about his Twitter account, and apologized for having been cranky and political lately there.
2:45 PM - 31 Aug 12
Ray Radlein @Radlein
@AKOTAS Knowing he was in deep red Georgia, he seemed a bit hesitant to admit that he is quite pro-Obama; said he had been yelling at TV RNC
2:46 PM - 31 Aug 12
For those who don't know what they are talking about

if your going to Bitch and moan then make sure you exercise your right to vote. If you want change then help make it happen!
I am following right in line with Mr Anderson. Those republicans are not what they try to be and Ryan is a liar.
But like others said don't believe everything in the media, you all have Internet and can Google. What the Republicans were saying about taking voting rights away from veterans is an absolute LIE!
Some of these guys need to go back to school and take a political Science class and learn how our government works. |
