Thank you everyone so much. I'm really, really happy that you like the story.

It is nice, indeed. At least one positive thing about the belated posting. Very Happy

Any ideas for a continuation?

Do you mean in Vancouver or in general? The Vancouver story continues with Jack's vacation, which I would like to be posting over the next few days. No more of the team story though. I have many ideas, but we had a limited time in Vancouver. Anyway, there sure will be other missions to other planets. I have plenty of ideas, and I actually have a lot of photos taken already. They are only waiting for me to prepare them for posting. Heck, I'm afraid there is enough material for a whole series. Laughing

I sort of guessed that especially you might like these two photos. Wink

Vancouver adventures - Part II

When the rest of the team left for Colorado, Jack changed his BDUs for jeans, mounted his bike and rode on a tour around the city.

He first stopped at Bridge Studios to say hello and check that no one had noticed the Stargate was missing. I took advantage of this visit and asked him to pose for my camera.

Jack: Got enough of the image stuff? Good. Iím leaving. Meet me at the next photo shoot, will ya?
Paja: Roger. Be careful.
Jack: Yasureyabetcha.

Jack repeated the well known route up to Burnaby Mountain Park, where he found some very nice terrain. I was already waiting for him, camera ready for new pictures.

A little close-up of Jack's new helmet. It had its premiere here in Vancouver, and Jack praised its perfect fit. No wonder. It was hand made exactly for his head.

Todayís last ride in the sunset...

Time to wrap it up. Jack was admiring magnificent views over Burrad Inlet, Stanley Park, Downtown and English Bay. We couldnít wish for better ending of this beautiful day.

Iíll be right back with the next part. Very special. You are welcome to come back after a short break. Don't forget to bring your sunglasses for the trip. Cool

Wonderful photos. Your skills are amazing.
Paya, this photo with the "totem poles" looks familiar. Was that the location where some scenes of "Upgrades" were shot?

The pics with Jack on his bike are so cool. Cool Especially the one where he rides in the sunet. Smile Since I don't see any stand I would like to know how did you manage it that the bike stands upright when Jack is sitting on it?

Wow, the sunset pictures look indeed very special and wonderful! And I really adore the helmet.

Yes, exactly. You already could see those in the previous pictures with the whole SG-1 team.

I told him so. But you know him. He's never been real big on regs.

I see that Astra has already answered the question. Smile Yes, it is Upgrade location. It's near Simon Fraser University a.k.a. 'Tollana' which makes this area even more attractive for a Stargate fan. The place itself is well worth visiting. It's almost on the top of the hill and there really are magnificent views from there.

Well, Jack is quite capable of keeping his balance on his motorcycle. He's a very good biker. (Just between you and me, it's a little trick with a safety match. But don't tell him!)

Vancouver adventures - continuing Jack's story

The next day welcomed Jack aboard a whale watching ship. He saw packs of orcas and seals, and most of all, he enjoyed the cruise itself with the fresh wind, white-capped waves, far horizons and the sun high up in the sky.

Most of the time, Jack stayed at the stern, where the water was spraying high up into the air.

Jack: There! Can you see them?
Paja: Well, yes. But Iím too slow. Iím mostly getting splashes. And I canít hold the camera still.
Jack: Gimme that. Iíll show you.

Jack: See? Itís easy.
Paja: Yeah. Maybe for you. But you are trained in steady pointing and shooting...
Jack: *snort*

Jack: And look over there. Come on, little fellas. Come to uncle Jack.

Jack: What a life. Lounging around and napping. Why donít we follow suit?

The man really looks like he was born on a ship. Heís like at home here.

Looking west, over the Strait of Georgia.

Sailing on the stern...

Changing course up north in the afternoon, leaving Vancouver Island:

Paja: Do you have a sunscreen?
Jack: No. Why?

No whales to watch this time. But the silhouettes of the coastal mountains are a beautiful sight as well.

On our way back to the harbor, we were passing by hills that brought back some memories.

Jack: Look. It's like the crystal guy's planet. That was hell. We couldn't get rid of the smell for months. Got the damn sulfur everywhere. Nothing helped. I even had to get new boots. Do you know how long it takes to break in new boots?

Nearing the harbor in the late afternoon:

Jack: I know this! Seen it somewhere...
Paja: Yeah, it was the other guy.
Jack: Who?
Paja: Never mind.

Docked. Our ship is the little yellow one on the left. And yes, itís real. Wink

Back on land in the evening. The sailors need refreshment. Nothing can suit better to O'Neill than an Irish pub.

Paja: Jack, I donít think this is a good idea.
Jack: Iím hungry.

Jack: Youíll get one for me after weíve done with the photo shoot, right?
Paja: Sure thing.
Jack: Or two.

The rest of the evening is in a haze somehow...
But the next day we were fit again, ready for a new adventure. See you back here soon for the next part of the photo story. Smile
