Re: Fires in CA.
I saw in the news the other day that a man had stayed at home like Richard to defend his house when the fire licked the other houses. He put water on the walls day and night. He saved his house. Firefighters could not save everything. It was dangerous to stay, but those who stayed saved their house ...

From a Los Angeles Time's article
"Richard Dean Anderson sat in the trunk of his hatchback with his two dogs, drinking coffee and reliving the battle he faced the week before. The “MacGyver” actor, who didn’t evacuate his home, recalled the howling winds and the sensation of being caught in gusts so strong it felt as though he were caught in the middle of a whirlpool.
“There’s a stark reality that comes with it,” he said of the damage in the neighborhood. “If it’s not you, it’s friends you love who have lost everything.”"

Re: Fires in CA.
Heard today on the news that the weather is still bad for these fires. I had hoped the weather was going to improve with lots of rain....but then heard another news report that said the conditions were going to be dry and windy again!!!!!
Pray for rain for them in California!
Thank you, Kate, and all, who have given more information about Rick and his situation with the fires. Prayers continue!

Thankful that RDA and his beloved pets are all still safe and his home has been spared. Also happy to report that my personal friends who live in the area are also still safe. Praying for continued safety for the residents of southern California and all of the first responders that are out there risking it all to try to keep things as under control as possible.

Re: Fires in CA.
I am glad Richard and the dogs are ok . This is terrible many poeple lost life and houses . Friends of Richard have lost houses this is very hard for everybody. The Califournia will not have the same landscape and many animals should have perished in this fire.Take care of you Richard the smoke is not good at a certain age .
Even if your house was not damage it is hard to see the devastation of this fire.Good luck

Re: Fires in CA.
Hi,
I just returned today from Los Angeles, where I spent two weeks holidays (California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona). It was very incredible. As "tourist", we were safety and our tour continued, but in the news, every day I saw the reality, the magnitude of the fires in Paradise and Malibu. As we were in San Francisco, we were in the big smog. Today, I heard that San Franscico became the 2nd worst towm for the air quality.
Kate (and all the fans)
I don't know if it is possible to help and how. Would it be possible to organize a money collect to give at least to the neighbours from Mister Richard Dean Anderson ? It is little bit frustrating nothing to do.
I saw on the TV, it is a special number to help the firemen of LA. But of course it was written to quickly for me. Perhaps someone has saw it and could write here this number.
I hope everything will become again at the normal situation. But the damage are big and huge.
Force, Courage and Prayers to Mister Richard Dean Anderson, to his family, to his neighbours and all the people from this forum who knows someone who pass a difficult moment.
