I just wanted to say that, to me, the best part of attending QTF is the chance to speak to some amazing people living with RDS. This year was no exception. After the races were winding down, I headed back to the main area of the event. I was walking next to a lady that had just finished the 5K. I asked her how she did and she replied "just great". As we continued to talk, I found out she had been diagnosed with RDS several years ago. As she always loved to run, this news was devastating to her. She thought her running "career" was over until her doctor suggested that she continue to run as long as she could. She said she still has the constant nerve pain, but it isn't as bad as it normally would be. Her love of running and the determination to keep doing it for as long as she can appears to be one of the best "medicines" in the world for her.

I found out earlier this year that I have arthritis throughout my entire body. My doctor gave me the okay to finally go back to the gym this past month. I haven't gotten into the heavy exercising or the running phase on the treadmill yet, but when I do, I'll be thinking of this wonderful, inspirational lady.

By the way, the lady came in 1st place for her age group. ♥ ♥ ♥

Thank you Pam for all the wonderful comments and the beautiful pictures from QTF. And thank you Rick for posing for us and the website, and you brightened this lovely place with your sweet and gorgeous smile. Makes me happy to see him so good, and hope he had a fantastic day.

Wow, this is weird. I had checked the website several times in the last few months and I could swear I saw it say it had been moved to December. I had planned to go and would have preferred to go before the Oct 28 L.A. opening of A Billion Lives so I could wear a #ABillionLives T-shirt in the walk/run. Missed it. BUMMER! Maybe it's my brain that needs the exercise?
