That's great. It would be difficult for me to work at a shelter. I would want to take all the dogs and cats home.

We adopted our dog from the local shelter. That was 11 years ago.

Hi, CathyRas - Welcome!

Glad you are here.

You and RDA are big animal lovers - I don't know if he would adopt all the dogs and cats from a shelter, but I do know he loves most all animals....as do you.

Your dog sounds like a wonderful one. Glad you have that dog as your own.

See you around the forum. :D :D :D

Her name is Jaffa. She is an adorable mutt. Just the right size too. She weighs about 40 pounds.
But I prefer bigger dogs not a fan of small yippy dogs.

Ha! What a cool name - Jaffa! Sounds like a wonderful, beautiful, dog. I don't like the small yippy dogs either.

The person who originally hired me gave me a great piece of advice: just think of all the dogs at the shelter as your pets that you are taking care of until they go to their new homes. Works for me. I'm sure they'll be one or two I just can't let go but it does get easier.

Update on the update...

I was offered and have accepted going full time at the animal shelter and my new hours started last week. My last day at my previous job was August 15th and I'm so glad to be rid of that place. At the shelter I work Wednesday - Sunday and have Monday/Tuesday off. No night shifts and I choose to work weekends since we are only open to the public for only four hours the entire weekend (on Saturdays).

Oh, and I got a raise after three months working there part-time. :D

It's late and I'm so, so tired. Night all!
