Hi again, I know everyone has given their opinions about the new show, but I was wondering if you guys know what great part producers wanted to give Richard Dean Anderson on MacGyver? I am not sure why they are trying to convince fans that this new character is a young MacGyver :?: I only see them as new characters, perhaps descendants of the original cast on an updated show like they did with Hawaii 5-O. Even if Anderson agreed to appear on the show, were they expecting fans to see him as another character and not MacGyver? Especially when new fans can still watch the original show. I can understand why Richard Dean Anderson declined. 8-)

Probably the deadbeat dad, which is really insulting and a waste of his time and talent.

As far as I know the people involved with the new show said nothing in regards to a specific role for RDA.

They did once say they had a "great role" for him, but what it was they never really specified.
