Some of my favorites,

CARTER: Sir, we've completely isolated this area of the base. There is no chance of reinfection of our computer.
DANIEL: It's obviously fighting to survive.
O'NEILL: So do bacteria.
CARTER: It's trying to communicate.
O'NEILL: So do bact…

O'NEILL: Oy! One crisis after another. This morning the Mess got a shipment of Yukon Gold potatoes instead of the usual Russets.
JACKSON: No!
O'NEILL: Oh yes! The Golds don't make for good mash. Consistency's all wrong.
CARTER: I hear the new Russian colonel came to see you -- made a pitch to join SG-1.
O'NEILL: Yeah.
JACKSON: What'd you say?
O'NEILL: Told ‘em to make French fries instead.

Episode8 yr 3 deamons

A guold named kelvar
O'neill asked,"kevlar?"

And then,
Te'elk says, "have u read the Bible, o'neill?"
O'neill replies yes, well part of it....i listen to the tapes...don't tell me how it ends"...(revelations, end times) .....

Imho Mr. RDA's quips are what make the show ...the sprinkles and cherry on top of the sundae... i have watched these many times, waiting for knee replacements and then after...and always something new to catch... even star trek did not have this. Thank you RDA for the FUN you added with the other actors.

I wish i knew if there was a secret joke between jack and daniel about jack daniel whiskey...because it was always daniel saying, "jack?" And then jack replying, "daniel?....."
And somehow it seemed very funny....and i don't drink...still funny..

I apologize for my spelling...

No need to apologize - your spelling is good.

Yes, the quips that RDA/Jack puts in absolutely MAKE the show. When asked about that, RDA seems to always say he was in the wrong to insert his own quips when they were having table reads of the script....but then said when they were in front of the cameras and the film was rolling, he was sort of on his own in terms of his (made up) quips and sayings.

I loved them all!

Just got a copy of a book called stargate essential scripts...
It has six selected scripts and explains about writing for Rda's style...sounded like only a few new disconcerted writers and they knew and appreciated his wit. I noticed that rda often would take an overly long sentence and make two short clear and often funny ones... it is very cool to go back to the episodes i have watched many times, but catch an rda quip i had missed....love it. Nice book, this, and still enjoying long time Kate's sg1 DK book, it is so well done. Wish that mgm would remaster the dvd's with high def blu ray and captions....would be so cool.... the script book said that in the torture with acid episode, that they had to edit out a lot of oneill quips that rda ad libed....wish they had left those in, because that part needed it...

Hi everyone!
Just read myself through allyour posts and I really enjoyed it.

Yesterday I watched the episode Touchstone and there was O'Neill's great line:

"We came here in peace, we expect to go in one....piece."

I love it.

Someone wrote that the humor gets lost in the German dubbing. I totally agree... I tried Lost City in German and was really disappointed and stopped after short time. As if the person, who wrote the dubbing just doesn't get the point of it, or hasn't seen it at all or whatever. So I watch and enjoy it in English....good practice by the way. ;)

Have all a nice day :D

Fully agreed here - and I might add that most of the emotional scenes don't work in German either!
