Anne wrote:The reason I bought the DVDs of the whole show - instead of recording it from TV - was that I wanted the show without dubbing. I haven't watched a single SG1 ep in German TV ever since I got my DVDs.

The reason I love this show still after all these years is a wonderful cast that has chemistry and teamy goodness that reminds me a bit of my ST days. Furthermore all the supporting charakters are 'alive' and casted really well, the show has developed wonderfully from the original movie with great stories and ideas.

And, of course, Jack and Daniel are my favorites and the ones that shine the most for me. I became a RDA fan and a MS fan because of the show, and it's not the same when either one of them isn't there. Yet, I enjoyed at least parts of season six and nine and ten as well because it's a great show. I could happily do without Mitchell, but ... Oh eell LOL
Thanks for your response, Anne. I can fully understand why you bought the DVD's of the whole show. And I agree also about your favorites being Jack and Daniel.....and being able to happily do without Mitchell. LOL. Thanks again for your reply.

So, I am wondering if anyone else has a reason they purchased the DVD's (if they did) and what is the reason they think other purchasers give for doing that. It is really interesting to read the comments of those who purchase the DVD's so I would like to know the comments of our members - and lurkers - for the same question. (I will be away from the computer for a few days so posters will be "on their own" as far as my responses will be to their answers).

Okay, Bee__ here is my answer ;)

When Stargate aired on german television after a few episodes I started to tape them. Quality
Later I filed them on harddrive as video. Quality
Finally I made high quality video files, but then I missed some of my favourite episodes. Quality :?

Someday I found videos on youtube, naturally in english and heard for the first time Rick's voice!
I guess that was the last drop to the bucket

I bought the whole DVD-Collection but I never watched season 9 and 10, except some special episodes ;)
I can also go without Mitchell, but never without Rick. And I always watch it in english, I love his voice

And so I bought also the whole MacGyver DVD-collection. There isn't even a german part on it, but I don't care.
And I'm very happy with my DVD's, Stargate got a place in front of me on my desk. There is not enough space for MacGyver but I've 2 DVD-reader in my computer, one with Stargate and the other mostly with MacGyver ;)

Nice retelling of this story, Caty. I bought the entire Stargate series too, but like you I have not watched season 9 and 10 except for some special episodes.....and then I also bought the entire MacGyver episode. And like you, I love RDA's voice so I totally understand that aspect of why you wanted the DVD's.

These were the best purchases I have made of any DVD's ever.

Thanks for your response! :D :D

A little bit of both, I think.

The "accident" (or really coincidence) is that there really is an "Anderson Air," which deals in executive, business and private jet charters in Vancouver, BC.:

https://andersonair.ca/

But I believe that when this question came up before, back when the series was in production, the producers answered that they deliberately set up the scene so that one of the planes from the Anderson fleet was visible in the shot.

Makes you smile, yes? :D

Thanks for the explanation, Kate

I must grin every time I watch this episode and I see the "Anderson Air"

I'm looking for a special pic of Jack!
It's from "The Nox". I didnt' find it and want to show it to someone.
It's Jack as bowman. <3 (I mean the moment he shoots Apophis... unfortunately without effect. :P )
Screenshot or something else would help me. :D
Thank you!
