I was fortunate enough to go to the Fan Expo 2018 in Toronto and Richard was a sheer delight. He is so down to earth and easy to talk to, which has been mentioned before by fans. I was so happy for him that so many fans turned out on Saturday and many more on Sunday. I was there on both days got two photo ops and 2 autograph sessions, like I said I felt very fortunate. I met another fan there and we are keeping in touch via email, she lives in Toronto. I traveled from Chicago and just spent one night in Toronto, but was able to take a sight seeing tour and I must say Toronto is gorgeous, one of the taxi drivers said to me it is a mix between Chicago and New York City. I found it to be unique all on it's own. So many different cultures, architecture styles, and food food and more food. LOL. I gave Richard a small gift which he was very happy to get, Stan Mikita pictures and a pamphlet that was passed out at the public wake in Chicago at the United Center for Stan. We met Stan Mikita's wife and one daughter. The grandchildren were greeting people as they came into the building, a very nice family. Richard said he played Hockey with Stan for a charity function.
The smile has not left my face, I had such a fun time. It was the first time I had the opportunity to meet Richard, but I have a feeling I will attend more conventions in the future as my budget will provide. Not sure how to post a picture, this is my first post. I found most of the RDA fans were very pleasant and fun to talk to at the Fan Expo. A good time was had by all. Hopefully someone will post the entire Q&A with Richard on youtube. :D

Thanks for sharing ,Beata and welcome on board :) If you want to post pics here (we'd love to see them ) , you need a photo hosting website . Or you can send them to Kate (mail@rdanderson.com ), and she'll post them herself.

I'm so glad that I was not the only one crazy enough to go for more than 1 autograph :-D
Didn't bring a present though because I heard that there had been a strict no gift policy at recent events. I'm hoping someone will upload the panel too, there were many great and fun moments.
I've spent a few days in Toronto and a week in Vancouver before. Maybe we have met, Barbara ;-) Such a beautiful city, actually both of them, and I love the landscape around Vancouver. omg, I have to come back very soon! It feels like I've lost a part of my heart there.
Let's see what else comes to mind from the panel ... When asked which charakter he loves or would love to play, someone shouted Smartass :-D He picked that up later on.
Is the craziest question ever asked at fanexpo on Youtube? He answered Yes (because people were asked to keep to short yes/no questions as time was running out) and then he said: I couldnt tell you, it was filthy.
Someone asked what his favourite Stargate and not being O'Neill moment was. He jokingly found his way to Window of Opportunity, of course, where he got to kiss Amanda and all that, I think he loves to elaborate on this at conventions ;-)

I remember at the Q&A he was asked what other career he would have chosen were he not an actor. He joking said he was too lazy now to think about working again, but then after some thought he finally settled on a Forest Ranger because he loves the outdoors and nature. Richard was a breathe of fresh air and I can't say enough good things about him for a man who was on TV and became a household word.
While I was in line for an autograph I could not help noticing that there was a family with a young son and Richard spoke at length to him and had his eyes focus on the little boy the whole time. He really loves children and animals of course.
When I came home I wrote in my journal all my experiences in Toronto so that I would not forget them in the future. It was an awesome time.

Beata, TinyPic.com will let you upload a picture, then they will give you url's (pick the one for forums to copy). Bring the url you copied back to this site, press the insert picture button and paste the url in between the img brackets that are now in this message box. preview the message to make sure everything is the way you want it to be (size and location of picture, etc).
