The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs, Dutch: De Smurfen) is a Belgian comic and television franchise centered on a fictional colony of small blue creatures that live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. The Smurfs were first created and introduced as a series of comic characters by the Belgian comics artist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) in 1958. The word “Smurf” is the original Dutch translation of the French "Schtroumpf", which, according to Peyo, is a word invented during a meal with fellow cartoonist André Franquin, when he could not remember the word salt

(from Wiki)

Used to LOVE the smurfs when I was a kid, collected them for a couple of years :)

And I also don't know what's the sweet and sour soup is, you were talking about. ;)
But when you know so many german food, do you know Streuselkuchen? :lol: I never thought that so many german foodnames are known in other countries too.

Do you regularly visiting Hamburg? My sister is living there. And Darling, too. I suppose, you know that :D

@Lacymck234
I think I can help you. ;) And when Caty read the german word for your "worms" she will smite her forehead. :lol: We call them "Spätzle". It's a regional specialty of Swabia (not from Hamburg) and you can make them with flour, eggs, salt and water. After cooking you have to butter them and they taste just yummy! Yes, and they definitely look like shrivelled up worms. :lol:
