Post by Jemster »

..what four things would you take with you?

For me it would be...

1) Dogs

2) Books

3) Computer (I assume there is internet access where I am going)

4) Coffee

HI Michelle - neat new topic. But it requires thinking - something that it is tough for me to do at this early hour....but I'll give it a try.

If I went undercover, I would want only to take Richard Dean Anderson with me...he would take care of the rest. :D :D :D Sorry, couldn't resist.

No, really, I would take:
  • A computer (agree with you) with hack-proof insides with the most sophisticated software and hardware available
A raincoat (don't all spies have raincoats?) :D
A passport and some visas - in my made-up name of course (since I would be going to many different locations as a spy in this small-world era).
A blonde wig since a mustache would look really foolish on me... :D
And, for good measure I would ask RDA to be my spy partner....oh, said that already....sort of. :D

Ha, great topic! I'll have to think about it, though. I was a complete spy fiction junkie, all the way back to Man from UNCLE (a big part of my initial love for MacGyver), so I immediately start asking questions such as "Where will I be undercover? What's my cover identity? Why am I there? How long will I be undercover? How likely am I to be followed/detained/questioned/have my room searched?"

So, hmmm. It's hard for me to think of sufficiently general items . . .

1. really good walking shoes

2. an extra passport

3. lots and lots of local money in a wide variety of denominations

4. a solid location for a dead drop, where I can stash the extra passport and the money

(If you aren't into spy parlance: a dead drop is a secure place where you can leave and retrieve items safely. It's called a 'dead drop' because a 'live drop' means handing things off to another person, and a dead drop does not.)

I'm not a studied spy so I'm still learning ;)

Therefore I take
1. Swiss army knife
2. Laptop (with DVD-Player inside)
3. Collection of MacGyver-DVD's so I can get a hint when I need it ;)

And enough small money to call 555-4876

Interesting question, I had to think about it :D

1. Swiss Army Knife (I always have one with me ALWAYS) :D

2. Laptop (I'd probably need information and if I was a spy, I'd most likely have to communicate with my boss, or maybe informants ;) )

3. An inconspicuous car... something that won't attract attention.

4. A good pair of binoculars

I'd take more then just those things... but I could only list 4 :D

Bear in mind: you can't take it on a plane, unless you put it in the checked baggage. ;)

My SAK is one of the ones with a flashlight and a thumb drive. The thumb drive is removable -- so I can put the knife in my checked bag and keep the drive with me on the plane.

True, true. But, I have to say, that I have never in my life been on a plane lol. Never flown anywhere, everywhere I've ever been is by car or boat ;) So I was just figuring if I was a spy, I'd either take the car or boat route.

Or better yet, if I was a spy, I'd have my own personal helicopter!!! Then I could bring my SAK ;)

I'm totally going to geek out here. The four things I would bring with me..

1. Daniel Jackson for his linguistic skills
2. Sam Carter for her brains
3. Teal'c for his brawn
4. Jack O'neill for no particular reason
If you can't say anything nice.....
