Hi, Louby,

If you are trying to post a photo from somewhere on the internet, including from here on Kate's site,

Right click on the photo and an option should come up that says: "Copy image location". Choose that option.
Then you come to a thread that you want to post to and when you are ready to post you first click on the icon above the reply area that has a little picture in it. (the icon is the one between the * asterisk and the chain.)
When you do that, you will see this come up: [ img ] [ / img ]. Place your cursor between the two brackets after img and before /img and hit ctrl + V
The image location of the photo you chose on the internet will come up. Be sure it ends with .jpg.
Hit preview to see what you have posted.
Then, if it's right, hit submit.
See example below.

If you are trying to post a photo that you have saved on your computer, you will have to first upload that photo to a photo hosting website.

I am still trying to do that so someone else will have to help you with that function. :D :D :D Good luck!

Ok, I used to do that....but I was using the photo hosting website called photobucket.

They used to let you upload your photos from your computer to their website (you can still do that) and it used to be you could then copy the photo to a thread like we have here - for free.

Now, however, they require you to pay like $99 US dollars in order to copy your uploaded photos to a third party site like rdanderson.com.....so I do not use them any more.

Someone else will have to come along and help you with how to use (and which site to use) to upload and post your own photos from your own computer. (I assume you want to use a free service but if you don't mind paying for the service, you can use photobucket and I can help you with how that works).

Again, let's hope someone sees this who can help you.

Louby,

Here is how I USED TO POST PHOTOS from my PC to threads here using Photobucket. Again, this won't work now unless you pay their required fee of $99.

There are free photo hosting sites but I have not been able to use one yet....because I am too dense to figure it out.

But on the chance that you may want to pay photobucket their $99, here is how I used to post my PC photos to a thread here on rdanderson.com:

SAVE your photo to your computer hard drive.

GO TO Photobucket and create an account there. Then go to "Library" on your photobucket home page and "Create a new album". (Name your album something that makes sense to you so you can find the photos you are uploading later). Find your album on the left and click on it and an outlined box will come up - that says "Click to upload" - click on that and it should take you back to your location on your hard drive of the photo you want to upload. Click on the photo you are wanting to post and it will upload to photobucket (in the album you have created). Guide your cursor over the photo that is now in your photobucket album and in the upper left corner, 3 short lines will appear. Hold your cursor over those 3 lines and click on the option that says "share". A large white box will appear, and on the right side click on "IMG" and it should turn yellow and say "copied".

GO TO the thread on our forum where you want to post the photo, and in the posting box either hit CTRL + V or right click and hit "Paste"...and the link to the photo from photobucket should come up.

When you are done with your post to the thread, click on PREVIEW and if everything looks good, hit SUBMIT.

That's how I used to do it. There is probably an easier way but it worked for me, so that's how I did it.

As I said, I know there are free photo hosting websites but others will have to come along and tell you how they work.

Again, good luck!

According to the currency converter website, 99 us dollars is 81.78 Euros.... :D :D :D

Well, for Photobucket, you can upload your photos to photobucket for free. You just cannot then use those photos to post to a third party site, like here on a thread, without paying them for that service. That's what the $99 is for.

I don't know why it's that way, but it is.

Again, there are free websites that enable you to both upload your photos and then copy them onto this site - but I have not yet had any luck with those sites. Someone else will have to come along to this thread and explain how to use one of the totally free sites.

Sorry to not be more help to you.   Good luck!

You need a picture hoster, where you upload the pictures and get the suitable link for the forum.

Try this one.
I recommend you to activate an add blocker!
