I think it's partly because of the fluid arpeggios. But you're right, it's a bit odd as titles go.

I believe it was meant as an intentional play on words, something RDA does often. So "Ode to Leo" (in honor of Leo Kottke) became "Eau d'Leo."

(In proper French, wouldn't it be written "de Leo" rather than "d'Leo"?)

In honor of Leo would have been 'Ode à Leo' in proper French. 'Ode de Leo' means it is 'from' Leo in honor of RDA (I hope you understand what I mean ). 'd'Leo '= de Leo but is more colloquial .
It sounds like a play on words though, you're right and I know RDA has many qualities but doesn't speak French ...I forgive him. :)

What I meant to say is that I don't think RDA was trying to translate "Ode to Leo" into French. I think he was trying to come up with an alternate spelling of what "Ode to Leo" sounds like, and the French word came in handy.

In the same way that he signed his New Year's message for 2008 as "Eau Ate!" Because it sounds like "oh eight". Or the way he will occasionally sign messages with "hugs and kisses" by writing "ex eau ex eau" instead of "x o x o". He's not trying to speak French, he's just using words that suit his purpose. And it made for an interesting title.

That's one of the things I LOVE about RDA, his shyness ;) Its part of his charm and what makes him a super sweet guy  ;) Then again, what is there about RDA that's not to love, right? ;)

Here are some songs I had stuck in my head today ;)

Roxette "Listen To Your Heart" http://youtu.be/yCC_b5WHLX0
Tom Petty "Free Fallin'" http://youtu.be/rqDq3eyTGck (I like the live versions better then the music video ;) )

A little while some of you were talking about Bryan Adams, here is my favorite Bryan Adams song "Summer Of '69" http://youtu.be/eFjjO_lhf9c

Thank you for Listen to your Heart, I like that song, I listen to it almost everyday. :D :D :D In fact I was planning to post it sooner of later. ;)

And I like Summer of 69 too. Actually I realized that I have some catching up to do with Bryan Adams, there are songs I almost forgot.

And I almost forgot also Sad Songs, I like it better than Nikita. This is a live version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDZZG2N4PaM

Somebody talked about the '50s. I'm not sure if it's in the 50s, but I like Only You by Platters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e24k-5G_6fc I knew it even before watching Beyond Betrayal because my dad had the record. Good song. :D

I didn't post anything live yet. Here it is, Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzhTEyVGi3I This is an acoustic version, a little different than the concert, maybe I'll post something of a real gig some other time :)

"Sad Songs" by Elton, very nice Claudia ;) I think that's a better song then "Nikita" too :)

I like "Only you" by the Platters too, but now "Beyond Betrayal" has branded it in my head, so when I hear it I can only think of that movie!

Here are some more songs I had in my head today.

This one is called "1985" and its by Bowling For Soup. http://youtu.be/yJY4gIqrPhU
"I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" by Elton John ;) http://youtu.be/cVvHGeE6lT4

After Richard Dean Anderson, Kevin Costner is my favorite actor. Some of you mentioned that you like Whitney Houston, and Kevin played opposite her in "The BodyGuard", which is my favorite non-RDA movie ;) He played in lots of movies in the 90's, and he sings too. He has his own country/rock band "Kevin Costner and Modern West". This one of my favorite songs of his ;)

Excellent Annelies! "Lollipop" is another great 50's song! Every time I hear it, it gets in my head. I'll be singing the song for the next couple of days ;)
"Stand By Me"..... another great one :)

I have this urge to post more of Kevin Costner's stuff. Country isn't my first choice in music, but I think Kevin is talented and he has a good band. I own his CD's ;)

"Indian Summer" http://youtu.be/VmcWuzPudzk
"Where Do We Go From Here" http://youtu.be/XLhH7lhzV14
"Superman 14 live" http://youtu.be/uV-141oKSUo

Other great songs that I love and just thought of...

"Mrs. Robinson" Simon and Garfunkel http://youtu.be/KxKh3Oqofi4
"I Think We're Alone Now" Tiffany http://youtu.be/w6Q3mHyzn78
