My three big ones:

My little mare (1,54m/5ft 2in)

I saved his life (1,70m/5ft 8in)

My big boy - too big to be sold, so I got him. His father is the most expensive and most successful stallion amongst the Hanoverians.

This is one of my favourite pictures. I adore elephants, beautiful, intelligent and hold emotions that are so much like our own.

Elephants are also a member of the "KeyStone" family of animals. Research that was conducted by Robert T. Paine.

I know many people don't like insects but look at the horn this cute little fella is carrying!!!

We call them Rhino-beetle, the scientific name is Oryctes nasicornis .
I think they are cute.

Speaking of German horses like the Hanvorian. How about the TRAKEHNER. A breed of horse that nearly died out during World War II

Where did you found this little guy?
I think the rhinoceros beetle is on the Red List.
I'm not a great fan of insects but they're so useful. But insects! I also think of butterflys, ladybugs, fireflies, bees and so forth. Every insect has its task.

They live in my muck pile - there are hundreds of larvae and now and then I find an adult. The larvae exist up to ten years, the beetle itself lives only for about four weeks - just time enough to make new ones.

That's wonderful, Anja!

Some years ago, when I was on vacations in France, I suddenly had a (for me) very big beetle in my hair. I think it was an Aromia moschata.

(picture from bund-naturschutz.de)
First I was shocked  and screamd in panic
Because I had never expected to finnd an animal like that!
But when it sat on the ground, I started admiring: It was about 4cm plus long tentacles, looking like small antennas. The surface sparkled metallic, in a greenish blue. Suddenly, there was a moment of holiness, I felt like meeting a creature of a foreign world!
Sounds silly, but I will never forget...
