I've been watching MacGyver (I own the box set that came out last year). His "Eye" movies (LOL)--Eyes of a Stranger and Eyes of a Killer--are also on heavy rotation at the moment.

No, I haven't read the detective books you're referring to, but when I do read mysteries, I almost always picture the detective characters as him, too (unless they're female, of course. ).
