Dear Rick, I wish you the most wonderful birthday. May you have a joyous day with Wylie and the rest of your family. And may I take this opportunity to thank you for all the joy you have given me. As O'Neill you make me laugh, you make me cry - and you've helped me through some difficult times of late - and for that I thank you with all my heart. I will truly miss you in SG-1. I will miss that wry smile and dry sense of humour. Selfishly I wish there was a way for you to remain in the show in some capacity, but I've worked in TV drama production and I know it's tough with many long days away from your family, so I really do understand. Be healthy, be happy, be strong, and should you ever fancy some British TV comedy I work for the home of British Comedy - the BBC's Comedy Department in London, let me know and if in my ballywick it will be yours... Love and best wishes,
Julia |

May you have long life and happiness.

Hi Richard: Happy 55th Birthday! I have been your fan since MacGyver... 1985 ... WOW!!! 20 years of being your fan and you still look like 35! Thank you for sharing your wonderful life with us, for all the happiness you've brought me over all these years.
I hope to see more from you in the future and if someday you came to Mexico, please contact me OK.

Dear Mr. Anderson, Amazing another year has rolled around and another wonderful opportunity, given us by Kate, to be able to wish you one of the Most Wonderful and Blessed years to come now that your birthday is here again. It is truly a most appreciated privilege, accorded to us who through knowing you from the works that you do both on and off screen, are given. Last year I wrote of my grandson to whom you have been such a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when your life plans and dreams are totally changed by physical injury. Scott at that time was going on 16 years of age. His plans were to become a dancer. He sustained a broken leg during a game of sports for his school. After many surgeries and other very painful medical techniques, it became apparent that he would no longer be able to follow his dream. His plans satured, he suffered from prolonged depression when he saw each of these medical procedures fail to help. The loss of a dance scholarship which he had been awarded from the U of A here in Arizona really capped his despair. It had been awarded to him when he was 14 years of age. I felt if I could show him how you had to alter your life due to injuries that you had suffered and how you went on to overcome the setbacks in your life and your career then maybe he could respond more positively to his circumstances (especially when he was told this year that he would be disabled for the rest of his life). He has what is referred to as Dropped Foot and will have to wear a brace (again he does not always comply with wearing it). Well your example and career has been a real help and Godsend. He is trying to dance again although it is in a limited capacity, BUT he is putting forth effort. It is a strictly limited field in which he can perform but it is a start. He will be 17 this year and will graduate High School and he has received (not in dance) another scholarship to U of A for other works. Scott still has moments of anger and despondency but I will be there with your story to prod him along. You may not realize or accept the fact that to young people here you are a HERO. A true everyday Hero for the many acts of kindnesss that you unselfishly give to your family and fans. Having the strength to go on when things did not pan out for you at first and through that strength inspire others to do the same. The courage of your character that has given to persons like Scott the confidence to follow a new star, NEVER, NEVER, understimate your ability to inspire youngsters to continue to stride even in the face of their greatest disappointment. Thank you for being the Man that you are! Blessing Always,
Rosemarie |

Dear Richard, HAPPY 55! I used to think 50 was OLD. But, I'm turning 50 this year and feel like a kid (an old kid, but a kid nonetheless!) I've been a fan for years and hope to some day be able to thank you in person for allowing me to be on location with "MacGyver" some years ago. You'll really be missed should you not return to Stargate, but I appreciate the fact that you have your priorities in the right place. May all of your wishes come true!!

Dear Mr. Anderson- Wishing you a happy "fifty something" birthday, from someone who is also in the "fifty something" category. Thank you for being so considerate of your fans, admirers and the many worthy causes you support while maintaining a down-to-earth attitude of life and success. Best wishes and great happiness during 2005!
Happy Birthday,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RDA! Thanks for all the years of enjoyment you have brought to your many fans. Enjoy your daughter, they grow up fast!!! Thanks again and may the sun shine on your many journeys that lay ahead.

Happy Birthday Rick! As you turn 55... Measure your age not by the creaks in your bones and stiffness in your joints, but by the mountains you can climb, seas you can surf and the fresh-fallen powder you ski. (After all - there are anti-inflammatories to ease the pain of the fun of too much living). Measure your wealth not in dollars but in the friends and family whom you love, for in their hearts is where your place in eternity will be. And finally - measure each day's value in the laughter you share with others, because when all is said and done, the memories we treasure most are those filled with laughter and love. Have a wonderful year.

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday! I hope you do something special to celebrate the day. Happiness & luck in all your future endeavors.

Have a great day. Please stick with the Stargate show. It is the only fun sci-fi show on and it needs your humor. I keep hoping you'll get court martialed and return to the team. Please don't desert us.

![]() Happy Birthday Richard, Dear Rick, I want to join my "voice" to those numerous ones all around the world to wish you a happy birthday with your beloved ones. I hope that this new year will see the fulfilment of your dearest dreams whether in your private or professional life. Your birthday celebration is the only opportunity I have to express to the wonderful person you are my admiration, respect and love. The fact that you’re gifted and such an example for so many people around the world is embedded in that you make attractive and interesting everything you do or touch. As for me, I didn’t like you in your role in the series ‘Emerald Point’, but I got hooked for the very first time I saw MacGyver (I learn a lot watching him). I appreciate much your play in Stargate SG-1 and find the O’Neill character changing and unpredictable, adding to the show a kind of suspense. This, combined with the friendly disputes and permanent arguing with Daniel makes the series unmatched in the field of science-fiction. However, I have noticed a monotony and dullness in the subjects dealt with in, compared to the richness and variety of the themes of the first four seasons: It is as if the universe has cleared from all the alien creatures and left with only a belliquous one, the Goa’uld! This sudden vanishing of all the other aliens has resulted in restricting the ‘whole story’ of the Stargate to a unique theme, up to the point that the series should be called then: “War against the Goa’uld” and not the so much evocating ‘Stargate’! I’ve noticed that this ‘military’ turn has started with the appearance of General Ryan in the show (Prodigy). From then on, the majority of the stories of the series are of a military concern!...where have gone all the marvellous discoveries and encounters that made this work so pleasant and edifying?... I continue to see the series because of you! Please continue to be in the show. I hope that someday I have the great honor to meet you and have a talk with you.
Soaad Zelmat |
![]() I want to congratulate you on your birthday. You are one to look up to, that is important in this world. MacGyver is still going here, today is a new episode, this series is sent for 6-7 time, not bad. I think that this is the series some have helped me most, and still does. I thank the gods that you were born. You do much good, and don't know it. Gratulere med dagje from Norge, Norway,

Dear Richard, Hello, and Happy Birthday once again! As you will be turning 55, I will be turning 33. I remember how kickin' you were at 33, and now at 55, you haven't stopped! You're just as awesome and good looking as ever! Besides my daughter, you have brought more joy and fun to my life than I ever thought was possible. Thank you so much. I also want to thank you for giving me MacGyver and Col. Jack O'Neill (2 L's). Because of these characters, I have been able to instill many of their morals, ideals, values, and appreciation in my daughter, who is now 13. She is a huge fan of yours also. You are more than just an actor, Richard. You are a wonderful person. You give so much to so many, without even asking for anything in return. All of the charities you support speak a lot about the kind of person you really are. I remember in an interview you gave on one of the Stargate SG-1 DVDs, that you didn't understand the fascination that people had with you. You were very humble, and thanked the fans for their support and for following you in your career. You are very welcome for our support, and you will always have it. As for our fascination with you, you may never understand it. All you really need to know is that you are loved and appreciated not just because you're a wonderful actor, but because you're a wonderful, thoughtful, caring, humorous, loving, and beautiful man. I will miss you very much if/when you leave Stargate SG-1. But at least I will know that you are on a more important mission, one that the Stargate can never take you to. The mission of a lifetime, with your daughter, Wylie. I know you will spend your birthday with Wylie, so I know it will be wonderful. I wish you many happy days and may God continue to bless you and Wylie. Mind if I eat your share of our birthday cake? Best wishes and lots of love,
Tiffany Beeler |

Hey Richard, I'm 13 and love MacGyver and Stargate. It's all thanks to my mom, who I would say is your biggest fan. I think it's cool how you and my mom have the same birthday. Now when I sing "Happy Birthday" I say both her name AND yours! Happy Birthday!
Kristin Beeler |

Hey! Happy 55th Birthday! I hope it's a happy one with lots of smiles! I love Stargate and though I've only seen a few shows of MacGyver, I like that too. My parents actually got my name from an actress who played a pilot on MacGyver once. Anyway-have a good birthday. I (and the rest of my family) will miss you when you leave Stargate. You have a great since of humor! God bless!
Caitlin |

My birthday is one day before yours (I do have a few years on you) and my best birthday present would be to know that you'll remain involved for season 9, at least to some extent! Meanwhile, I, in turn, wish you a peaceful and happy birthday and the same for the year to come. Best regards from Maine.

Happy Birthday, Rick, I hope you have the best yet. Your acting is getting better and better, you are amazing. I thank you for continuing to act and being a part of my life in that way. I believe I would be profoundly saddened if you gave up Stargate, it would not be the same without your incredible sense of humor. Thank you for your continued environmental support. The best to you always,

Happy Birthday Rick! I hope it is going to be a special day for you and that you can spend it with your loved ones. One of the things that probably attracted me the most to you is your contradicting personality. On one side there is the boyish charm, the childlike enthusiasm, a language filled with slang and colloquialisms, even the occasional foul expression on the other side the razor sharp wit, eyes shining bright with intelligence, speech filled with words I have to look up and so much common sense that is rare to find in celebrities. Don’t you ever change. All the best,
Petra |

Happy Birthday and Thanks. In honor of your 55th birthday and in appreciation of 20 years of fantastic journeys and entertainment a donation in the name of Richard Dean Anderson has been made for $324.00 to Northeast Arkansans for Animals. This is a local rescue group dedicated to making a difference in the "Animal Community". I chose this charity because they are making a difference and so have you, not only through your performances and associations with quality programming, but through your philanthropy work. The $324 check is representative of 138 MacGyver episodes, 12 Legend episodes, and the 174 filmed Stargate SG-1 episodes. May you be blessed for another 55 years to come.

Rick, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you the happiest of days on your 55 years of living life to the fullest. You set a wonderful example as someone who appreciates each and every moment and opportunity that life has to offer. You have been a personal inspiration to me. As a tribute to you, and a rededication to myself, this year I will be forging ahead with dreams left by the wayside and reaching out in the capacity of sharing. I will be traveling (Vancouver, Nevada, Machu Picchu), embracing much anticipated adventures (hiking, camping, climbing, skiing, scuba diving, sea kayaking, and more) and volunteering to help young people through the venue of the Boy Scouts of America. I have had a number of years in which my body has failed me but in reading about your accomplishments and the adventures you have had over the years I feel invigorated and hopeful. I know that I can never fail unless I don't try at all. I'm looking forward to a productive 47th year. Please know that I will continue to follow your endeavors, wherever they may take you. I wish you well, along with your family. I pray you never lose the wonderful spirit that you display. Keep safe and healthy in all you do. Your greatest admirer,
Debora Depczynski |
