Although Richard has always willingly signed autographs for fans, he has made it a practice that any fees paid for his signature should be donated to charity. He is also aware, however, that because of the demand for his autograph, many fans have been the victim of unscrupulous dealers selling forgeries. Paul Brown, of Legends Memorabilia, offered the perfect solution with an autograph project that guarantees authenticity to fans while donating 100% of all fees to charity. A MESSAGE FROM LEGENDS MEMORABILIA:

Legends Memorabilia is pleased to announce a charity autograph project built around the supply of photographs and other memorabilia items personally autographed by Richard Dean Anderson. In order to satisfy the strong demand for these types of items, Legends Memorabilia has undertaken the development of a marketing program in which 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charities which Richard wishes to support.

Although Richard has always been a willing ‘signer’ of autographs for fans, he has nevertheless been reticent to receive any fee for his signature and for this reason, has deferred from entering into any commercial enterprise in this regard. At the same time, Richard is a strong supporter of various charitable causes including “Challenger’s Boys and Girls Clubs” and “Art of the Brain” amongst others.

Challenger’s Boys and Girls Club promotes social development of youths aged 6 to 17 through positive, constructive alternatives to alienation and juvenile delinquency. Art of the Brain is a non-profit organization in support of the UCLA Neuro-Oncology Program's brain cancer research project.

In addition to the charitable aspect of this project, it is Richard’s desire to protect fans and collectors from falling into the trap of purchasing one of the many ‘bogus’ autographs that are in circulation on various Internet sites.

By bringing together the desire to provide on-going assistance to Richard’s charities, along with his wish to ensure that fans get ‘the real thing’, this project satisfies both objectives in a gratifying manner.
